Why is there a break this week?

Is it because of the Writer's shortage? Anyone else really upset by them not having a new episode this week?

although i'm not completely positive why there's a break this week, i was thinking about it earlier and it could very well be because of the strike. i thought that maybe they're skipping a week so that they can make the episodes they already have ready to be aired last longer. possibly? like..if they had played a new episode tonight and this strike continues on and no new episodes get written and shot then it would've ended a week sooner than it will now. but, that's just what i was thinking. i could be completely wrong on this, haha. but i am upset! i need to know what happens, haha.

right, I rarely watch TV and when I do, I watch Grey's. I might just have to resort to doing homework tonight! Gosh this is really throwing a kink in my week! lol

Many shows take a break during this time. I enjoy watching the Christmas Specials. Some of my friends are going on vacation, so they are happy that they won't miss episodes.

It's not a break due to Christmas, it's a break due to the writer's strike. There are no more eps and if there are eps, the crews are not going to cross a picket line or hire flunky writers to finish the episodes that are half written or finished but need editing.

It could be because a lot of people go on vaction or to see other family members during this time of year and last week was Thanksgiving in The United States. It was slow like this last year. I started right around this same time last year.

There are no more episodes as the strike has halted all production. There won't be anymore for this season if I had to make a bet. It'd take at least a few weeks to write an ep, a few weeks to film and edit it and then another week or so to ship it to the stations to film. So if the strike ended today, we might get episodes by March or April and the seasons ends in May. So if this strike is not resolved soon, we probably won't get any more episodes this year.

This is actually really annoying because I pretty much thought there would be a new epside tonight. I remember seeing previews for a new episode, but I don't recall ABC saying there would be a break this week. Usually, if a show isn't going to return for awhle during the previews the network will say it. According to some sites I have checked out, the reason for the rerun is because of the strike. ABC is probably trying to space it out because as of Nov. 9, it had four new epsidoes left. I think by doing the math that would mean there is only one new episode left, meaning the continuation of last week. The only cliffhangers that should last more than a week is a season finale. This sucks.
