Busy, Busy, Busy - Making Gifts

I have been so busy since last week. Trying to get some craftwork done for Christmas keeps me away from the computer. Next weekend is our family gathering and I have to make calendars and do some baking for that too. I do have Fridays off, but this Friday I will be baking most of the day. The calendars will be done by this weekend. Each evening I will be doing a little bit at a time. This way I will be able to get at least one or two gifts per week done and not stress myself out. My grand plan is to enjoy myself while making the gifts and to enjoy the season as well. Blessings to you all. Big huggers I send your way. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas.

crafts and baking, does it get any better than that? I don't think so! You're so lucky! My evenings are electrotherapy and emailing my boss. I have some ideas for X-mas ornaments and I don't know if I'll get the time to do them. Take care

I once decorated my home with hand-crafted ornaments. I received lots of compliments. They're cutting back on my physical therapy, so wish me luck. Maybe I'll have time to actually make some! Good topic

What a nice way to spend Christmas . There is nothing nicer then recieving something you know someone put time , effort and care into making just for you . I find these the nicest gifts I reieve because you know the thought that was put into you when the gift was made . I have made a few gifts for Christmas before but don't find I am very crafty so I haven't done it to often but love to recieve things like this at Christmas . There is nothing nicer then when you know it came from the heart . Merry Chriistmas to you as well and have fun :)

I am going to make some homemade playdough for the grandkids this year. They enjoy working with the clay and making it in bulk is easy. Now the only thing I need are the containers to put the finished product in.

Merry Christmas to you too, its December now crunch time. Christmas comes so much quicker each year. I will be baking and making fudge when it gets closer to Christmas. Good luck with the gift making. I am all done with my shopping, now I have to start the wrapping. The tree is up and decorated. We didn't put too much on the tree, we have 2 crazy kitties that like climbing in it. I watched their momma teach them how to do it.

I have quite a bit of baking to do myself. Tomorrow is our family Christmas gathering. At the present time I am making caramel corn. Last night I baked cookies. Not sure I want to do much more. Oh bother. Our cats are being good this year. Not one ornament has been knocked around. They do sleep on the tree skirt.

Well you sound really busy! Nothing like fresh baking to make the mouth water, so any spare I will be interested ;0) I love home made gifts, to me home made gifts are so much more thoughtful than shop bought. I still keep home made Christmas cards my best friend sends me each year, I treasure them more than the shop bought ones. I think creating your own gifts is highly talented and the presents you give are more unique and treasured, rather than off the shelf. Good for you and Happy Holidays to you and your family too x

I agree that handmade gifts are best. Even my grandkids appreciate them. I just finished a crocheted afghan for my son and his wife. My grandson said he thought it should be for him!

I bet you are staying busy right now. I love handmade things. I make a lot of scrapbook pages and things like that for people in our family and they always love them. Just have a fun time doing it and don't get too stressed out. Merry Christmas!!

I haven't really started, as I hurt my wrist last week and have to be careful not to move it too much, but it's better now, so I'm going to start Monday. It's going to be frenetic.

You should wear a wrist brace to help support it while you are working. It helps.

You are very organised. his is the only way one can be, when buying, making & wrapping Christmas Gifts. Making & writing on cards & posting them. Baking for Christmas, cleaning the house of guests are coming... it all adds up. I am over half way through buying gifts. My daughter makes all the Christmas cards & I buy them from her. I think most of my meal preparation will be the day before Christmas, but I have to buy all the meat, preferably when it is on special.

Well, it sounds like you will be busy for the next 3 1/2 weeks. My son has told me that he might be coming home - I guess I have to vacate his closet and remove my stuff from his room. The holidays are so much fun and so much work, I look forward to them, then I look forward to them being over. How about a picture of what you are making for gifts.

I have to get the spare room cleared out soon and the includes the closet where I store my crafts. My grandson will be staying with us and the room is filled with empty ornament boxes.

Hello my dear busy elusive butterfly. I think that you are happy to be with the nice gifts that you are making. I admire you for your nice craft skills. I hope that you will make as many as nice crafts for your family and friends in a short time so that you have more time to do something else that you prefer. Thanks for your big hugs. Merry Christmas to my dear butterfly as well.

Wow! You sound really busy! I really need to finish the edging on my son's blanket. I was going to finish it a week ago, I got everything out and realized that I bought the wrong edging for it. I took that back and bought the right stuff. Now I have it all pinned, I just have to get it sewn on!

I used to love to do handmade gifts every year! I'd work all year on them! I finally stopped when I worked allyear making crocheted afghans for each of my 2 brothers, sister and parents. I learned all the really neat stitches like hte shadow box and triple cross. these twin size afghans were beautiful and I am my own worst critic, so to say that just means they really were beautiful. The one I gave to my brother and his wife, she gave away to her mother and it sat on a chair and was never used. The one I gave to my brother and his wife, they gave to their two girls to play with out side in their tent and the one for my sister...never saw it again. My parents, one put it in the closet and continued to just stack stuff on top of it and my mom gave hers to the kids she babysat to play with or take naps with. That was my final year at hand made anything for my family - other than my own 2 kids. But I still love doing the crafts! My GD is my craft partner now! This kid can take pair or scissors and a pencil and decorate the whole house! Or creat a story book or just about anything she puts her mind to!

I know what you mean. I am finishing up some last minute craft projects. I am lucky this week because I have 4 hours daily that I can use towards my craft. I am also going to do some baking this week.

I'm jealous! When it comes to sewing or any other kinds of crafts I'm useless so I really admire those who have those kinds of talents. Nothing is nicer than a handmade gift. It's so much more personal than something from the store. Please don't stress yourself out, you want to be able to enjoy the holidays yourself! Annie

It's wonderful to be talented with crafts. Handmade gifts are such a pleasure to receive, you know the person giving it has put lots of thought and time into your present. It's something that I have always wanted to try but never actually put aside the time to do. You are an inspiration though, maybe this year I will try making one and see how I get on. I hope that you do have fun making yours and that you share your favourite one when you finish it :)

i love making christmas gifts for my family members it is fun and i think that the hand made gifts carry a more sentimental value not to mention that they are often cheaper to make than they are to buy but this year i ran out of time and decided to just buy people gifts i got busy and did not have time to make everyone gifts even though i do not have that many people to make for if i am going to make people christmas gifts i usually have to start in january the year before just to get everything done on time my biggest problem is that i have a hard time getting myself motivated
