If you found out money had been added to your bank account...What will you do?

I've actually had this happen to me. I went to go and draw out some money from my account and I found that someone had made a deposit to my account of £1500. I knew straight away something wasn't right so I reported it to the bank who removed the money from my account and put it back in the correct account. A week or so later another deposit appeared for £100 so I went in again and asked the bank what was going on and it turned out that although the person who made the first deposit couldn't track me, they had placed the second amount of money in my account with a note attatched to it as a thankyou for being honest. I reckon it's better to be honest in the end because you will only end up in trouble if you're not.

No. I will not spend. I will ask my bank official to make enquiry and to find out genuine person who deposited the money by mistake and collect his or her name and will request the bank to retun his or her money with intimation me. I will also contact the person and will know if he or she get the money back in right way.

Hmmm..That;s tough. i know he right thing to do would be to report it, but i would probably keep the money.

You notify the bank and let them take care of it. That is the easiest way. They have the technology to do the tracking much faster and easier than you do so let them do it.
