Add some cinnamon!

I have been on a huge cinnamon kick the last few weeks. I bought a package of cinnamon sticks to put in my coffee and tea and I have been adding ground cinnamon to my oatmeal, applesauce and other things. I was curious to find if cinnamon had any health benefits! After some research, I was amazed! Cinnamon is said to help lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and even help with arthritis pain! You can read at the link below. Do you enjoy cinnamon? Tell me some of the ways that you utilize cinnamon! http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/10-health-benefits-of-cinnamon.html

I guess I am indifferent to cinnamon. I seldom take it. But I will if I see them lying around at Starbucks lol. But hey, haven't been to coffee joints for years.

Ummm. Cinnamon sounds good. It sounds as if you grind your own, is that correct? What do you use to do that with the cinnamon sticks? This time of year I think of cinnamon toast, which I love but rarely fix just for myself. I'll have to do that when my son is home on leave for Christmas. My husband and I have a shaker of cinnamon and brown sugar that we use on baked sweet potatoes. We love sweet potatoes and that's such an easy way to prepare them, plus they're good for you - and I guess the cinnamon adds an extra boost of health, too! That was a good blog post about the health benefits. I was very happy to read that "smelling cinnamon boosts cognitive function and memory." I can use all the help with that that I can get!

Do those nice sweet churros in Mexico have cinnamon in them? I can't remember but I remember loving them when I tried them there then.

I think I am allergic to cinnamon because if I eat to much of it it makes sores in my mouth. when I say to much that could be one red hot candy, one cup of apple cinnamon tea. I love those cinnamon candies that are long and soft to chew that are made by ike and mike. I cannot remember the names. If I have one I am in trouble.

I have always added cinnamon to apple sauce and cooked oatmeal. I also have a mixture of cinnamon and sugar in a separate sugar bowl and I like to eat it on pancakes. When I cook lamb I also add a tiny dash of cinnamon. I did not know about the health benefits. Thank you for posting this.

I love cinnamon but seldom use it. I probably have a cinnamon flavored coffee more often than anything else. It's great to know there is a health benefit. I'll have to try and use it more often!

If you do any baking, you may notice that sometimes the recipe says to grease and flour your baking container. Instead of doing that, I like to use butter flavor non-stick spray, and sprinkle it with a cinnamon-sugar mixture, it adds a nice flavor to whatever it is that you're baking. If my memory is serving me well, I think cinnamon is also a potent anti-inflammatory. I like it in my eggnog, also.

Yes, I love cinnamon. It goes good in coffee, cereal, chili, on potatoes, and many other foods. I add it into many things I make.

I love cinnamon. My husband hates it. So if I am making french toast or something like that I have to make his first. Then add the cinnamon. I had no idea that cinnamon was so good for you. I wont feel guilty about that extra shake I add to everything any longer. Thanks for sharing the info.

You think you have it bad with cinnamon try this next time. Fish with cinnamon when I was pregnant cinnamon and vanila were the only 2 smells that did not make me sick. So what I did was boil water on the stove and add cinnamon to it so I cant smell what I was cooking or add it to the food if I was going to eat it. Yes I had some stomac turning things.
