Do you ever get a mosquito in your house?

Today we went outside using the side door. And, for some reason, mosquitos tend to congregate near that particular door. Well, I guess we must have let a few mosquitos into the house. And, now they're driving me nuts. Ironically, everyone put on mosquito repellant spray before going outside. But, I only put the spray on, up to my knees. And, wouldn't you know it, I got bit by a mosquito just above my knee. Those things are really sneaky. Who knew those things were even still living, this far into fall. Do you ever get mosquitos in your house? How do you deal with them or get them out of your house? Do citronella candles work?

Don't know about you, but I really have a serious problem with all kinds of bugs and mosquitos in my house. I even found a small scorpio once!!! I couldn't believe it! I fight it everyday using all kinds of repellants, citronellas and everything relevant! I don't know what else to do, and sometimes I have allergies and my body is reacting with red spots or blisters. I would like to know why God created those little devils!

Hello dear beauty queen. Right now in this season, I don't have any mosquitoes in and outside my door. I think that they must have hidden somewhere. In summer, I don't have to worry too much about them as I have screen window and screen door to prevent them from coming in. Mosquitoes are such a nuisance. They can always get in if you are not careful while getting in and out of the house and it is very annoying to hear their making noise beside your ears. I am sorry for the mosquito bite on your knee. Put some soap or toothpaste on it and it helps if you don't have any other stuff to let it go. Have a good day.

mosquito - mosquito bites are very annoying. i hate mosquitoes as they are such a nuisance.
Yes, it is true that the mosquito season is coming, so we will have a battle against them to keep them away from biting us and transferring disease. I learned that only female mosquitoes bite because they need to suck blood for the development of their babies inside their body and then they will deliver their baby mosquitoes on the surface of water or somewhere else that fits for them. Isn't that interesting? Thank you very much for the best response,my dear beauty queen. Have a good day.

It is really strange that mosquitoes fly up to the fifteenth floor. I think that you are right they may come from the elevator. Also the wind might blow them up that high, I guess.

Hi,there! It's very commom that in summer time we come across that. They're almost everywhere. We have some certain windows to prevent them from coming into the house. However, you can't avoid all the mosquitos. They're just so annoying. Sometimes when I was sleeping,I could hear the mosquito flying around my head which made me hard to fall asleep. What's worse, the next day, there'd be many red blebs in my body.I hate them in summer time.We also have some special equipments to get rid of them:) But they're seldom seen in fall or winter here. Thanks for your discussion and hopefully you'll get rid of that very soon.Good luck!

yeah, they are very common in summer time, and I'm sure nobody would like to see them. In my house there are some special windows to get rid of them thought sometimes them didn't work. That worst situation is that, you've said that, when you're sleeping, the annoying mosquitos flying around you, then you will hard to fall asleep over that night...lol...and the poor blebs in your body... I hope there would be a day that the disgusting mosquitos were no long to be found in the world...

Almost every place in India has a mosquito problem and I guess most of us are used to it by now. Fortunately, we don't have too many because we stay on the 6th floor...but when we are down in the evenings, we find swarms of mosquitoes...and now they've grown smart and follow us up home in the elevator!!! I use a mosquito repellant on the kids and myself if I have to go out in the evening...and it's not as bad during the day time.

There are also many mosquitos outside our house too. I think the reason is the messy things outside our rented house which our landlady don't want to clean because her husband will get mad if we touch a thing of it.

We get them on the Isle Of Wight which is unusual as they aren't supposed to be in England yet, and they come into houses and bite us too. They are very hard to catch as they have a way of seeming to vanish in the air and are a nightmare if you can't catch them biting me all over my legs normally, even through jeans. I imagine they must be on the isle Of Wight and hardly anywhere else in the Country because it is the warmest part of Britain (though you wouldn't know it now lol.

Nope, I don't usually get mosquitos here, because I live on a 13th floor. anyway, my cat just loves to hunt them, so whenever one gets in the house, she takes good care of it. I heard citronella candles do work, but I've never tried them myself... And in a few months I'll be moving to a first floor apartment, and it will be still summer here, so let me know if they work allright!!!!! LOL!!

The females of most species require a blood meal to mature their eggs. Through bloodsucking, females of various species (genera Aedes, Anopheles, and Culex) transmit human diseases, including dengue fever, encephalitis, filariasis, malaria, yellow fever, and elephantiasis. The adult has a long proboscis, a slender, elongated body, and long, fragile legs. The males (and sometimes the females) feed on plant juices. The female's characteristic sound is made by the vibration of thin membranes on the thorax. The females lay their eggs on the surface of a body of usually stagnant water, and the eggs hatch into aquatic larvae (wrigglers). In the far north larvae pass the winter frozen into ice. The wrigglers are eaten by fishes and aquatic insects, the adults by birds and dragonflies. Control measures have included elimination of breeding sites, application of surface films of oil to clog the larvae's breathing tubes, and use of larvicides.

Well, right now we have a howling storm here and it drives be nuts. As far as mosquitoes are concerned we get them in the summer but most of us have screens on the doors and windows. It is true they like to sneak in and ever so often one or two do. I try to hunt them down before they bite me. I would not like blood splotches on the walls.
