A short update on my wife's brother Tom. I talked with Debbie's sister and she says Tom is home now to stay. His immune system has basically shut down. He isn't in a lot of pain just yet though. They have Hospice care lined up for once he has to start having morphine for the pain. He is conscious and aware of things which is a good sign. He does know Debbie will be there to see him tomorrow afternoon. That's all for now. I wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to all friends and members here for all their support, care, love, thoughts, and prayers as well as the well wishes. They are much needed. This site with all it's members and my friends group here have been one hell of a support group to me. Thanks again all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We hope for this as well but that's not going to happen as he was in pain but it was bearable at that time. I have not heard from the family since last night so who knows the level the pain is at now. Thanks also for the friends request. Approved. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Grandpa Bob know that we are all praying for him, as well as your Dad. You and your family are in our prayers and thoughts. Give your wife an extra hug for me as well. Just keep a positive attitude, my sister came through a bone marrow transplant as well. She has acute Lympoplasic leukimia but Bob she made it, it is five years now and she is doing quite good . She was in her early fortys when this struck her so keep having hope and faith. The best to all your family.

Hi Grandpa Bob, I'm very sorry to hear that they've sent Tom home this way, but it's a good thing for him and the family, if this is the way they want things. I'm thankful that he's aware of what's going on, and that he'll be able to 'see' your wife when she gets there. Such a hard thing though, and I can relate. Two years ago, we spent Christmas Eve at the hospital with my critically ill sister in law. She ended up being in various hospitals for seven months. As it turned out, she (and we) were granted a miracle, and she's still with us today, back home, and doing pretty good. Maybe there can be a Christmas miracle for your brother in law? I'm not trying to raise 'false hope' here, but the doctors don't know everything. I know you get my meaning here, and I'll continue to pray for the outcome that's meant to be. You have a lot of strength, and I know you'll be there for your wife, no matter what happens. Hugs to all of you. Take care.

I do pray that whatever the outcome, your wife can come home to you, her kids, and grandkids for Christmas. If she's grieving, because he passed away, being surrounded by people who need her will help. There's no good time for these things, but this time of the year, it seems 'even worse.' My husband passed away fourteen years ago, in October, and it was 'still' way too close to Christmas. I barely noticed the holidays that year. So, the fact that it's December is even worse for you and yours. Take care friend.

Grandpa Bob, I am really sorry, but I'm happy Debbie and a few other family members will be with Tom on his last days. I just wish you could be there with them, though I know you are needed at home. It must be hard on you not being there to be with your wife and say your own good-byes. You are all in my thoughts.

I am glad she left as well to be by his side in this trying time. She needed to see him so she could resolve her guilty feelings about not going out there a few years ago for her sisters 50th wedding anneversiry party. Now she gets to see him. But under very somber conditions sad to say. At least they will see each other again. It's very rough. My wife and I have never been apart more than 3 days in our 35+ years together. Very rough on us both. Thanks bunches friend. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Grandpa Bob, I am still praying for your brother in law and all of your family. Support is what your whole family needs now and with the MyLot family that you have, I am sure that you realize that is what you have from all of us. We are here for you. Hospice is a good program. My sister works for Hospice, in Ohio. Keep us updated.

-sighs- Why is it that the Lord always calls the good ppl here on earth back home? Glad to hear your brother-in-law is home surrounded by loved ones now, instead of in the hospital. When Grandma Deb comes back home, give her a HUGE hug for me, Grandpa Bob, for she will need lots of them in the coming weeks. HUGE hugs to you as well, along with your family.
