shipping on christmas things

why does it cost so much to buy things and have them shipped. the amounts are so high for so many places. At least now some stores have site to store shipping instead of to your house for site to store you dont have to pay any shipping just go to the store and pick it up when it comes in.

I don't know why things cost so much exspecial the way some things are made. How about barbies the prices on them are in sane.
