What is the MyLot reputation? I noticed that some people have stars with numbers next to their names. What exactly does it mean. Is it benefitual to build up your MyLot reputation. How do you build it up?

You have three buttons next to all of your posts for other users to rate you + positive, - negative or ! to turn you in for breaking the TOS, the more postivies you get the higher your star will be the more negatives the lower your star will be. The highest star you can get is a 10 the lowest is a 1 you will receive your star when you reach 100 posts. You should rate other users to based on the quality of their posts.

I think the higher the quality of your post appears, the hiher your star rating-I dont really know what the symbolic meaning of these ratings are, but for goodness sake, it is better to be a 9 red star than a one with 4, i guess!

You get the star when you hit 100 discussions. I don't really worry about it and don't know why someone would even look at them. You don't get any credit, though I guess some would see it as you being a good mylotter, but that is someones opinion. It gets build up whenever someone rates your discussion/replies as positive, butI have seen where someone would have a stalker, going around and rating them negative just to be mean, so I give no credit to the number at all..

it was just a rating for your postings.

You are right in saying that it is the star and the rating inside the star. When people rate your discussions and responses you build up a number that determines your reputation rating. It doesn't have anything relevant to do with the money you make so don't worry a whole bunch about it. It just gives other people an idea of what kind os discussions you start. It tells us how many people think your discussions and responses are good. I rate all the discussions that I respond to and I also rate all the responses I get. I should say I rate the ones that are a positive rating. I don't rate a negative rating, if I feel someones post is no good I just ignore it and don't rate it at all.

These are the stars given to a member after attining minimum score of 100. That means the member has to have completed atleast 100 postings before he or she can have a star which is a rated one! Depending upon the popularity the mwmber enjoys in the community wich in turn is decided by the ratings given to the discussion submitted by him or her by others! The quality discussions are likely to draw more positive ratings and a member's star reputation likely to stay higher. It is like percentge of marks you score in the examination and 9in turn they are converted to grades. I have seen blue star starting from 50% which is possibly with a rate of 4 or so and highest being the Star with scoring of 10! Yoy really need not worry about your starform rating, all you need to do is concentrate on your postings, be sincere and ;astly its the hard work whichj pays. So be regular and post some good postings so that you will have a good star once you have attained your score of 100! All the besr dear
