Fiction books any suggestion?

What are some good fiction books,with a great plot and colorful words?
I love reading, but I don't know what books to buy. I like fantasy based stories, utopian, adventure. I hate horror stories and anything to do with killing others or self. I also want to increase my vocabulary too.

I am an avid reader and can recommend more books than you can imagine but you don't like the same type of books that I prefer. The only ones I can think of that I read that falls into your categories would be:

Dance with Me
Or if you like light biographies (really funny):
My Life & Unfinished Business by Dolly Parton

Clan of the cave bear thats a good series of books very good reading I like them allot
