Why does it have to be dead when I want someone to talk to??

I'm not online as often as I would like to be lately, because of other obligations. So I'll come online after being gone a lot for a day or two... and find that my friends have been really busy while I was gone. And yet, when I come on here... it seems to be really dead! Do I just have bad timing or what?
Has anyone else had this problem?

I just saw your title in my mailbox, and virtually, I didn't go mylotting for couples of weeks. I just don't like to mylot anymore, and I just don't know why.

Sadly, I have that problem a lot. I'm always up late at night, so whenever I'm really interested in talking to people and what not, everyone is in bed or going to bed so I never have anyone to talk to. It leaves me feeling rather lonely and it's a pain.

Well, I was spending a couple of hours destroying some half baked argument from some half baked organization. Sorry bout that.
I'm here now just posting though.
I'll find some things to respond to after that whole "exercise".

Well... its fun at times.
Plus if something is REALLY glaring I do take note. And its very bad for them if I decide to use the "call bluff" command. Which I seem to be doing more and more, so I guess you are right Lecan.
*gasp* Maybe its an addiction!?

I think if I thought I might have a problem with my timing, I would first change when I came on and see if it changed. Try just changing when you are available, and see what happens. If that doesn't help, try finding out when the folks you want to converse with are online here. You might also want to make sure that you have your "Notify when a discussion is started by..." is turned on. With that as a hint, you should be able to see who has started a new discussion that you might want to respond to. A little give and take can be just what you need, at the moment. Try it. What's the worst that can happen? If you need more things to try, just ask some of the friends that you have found, some of them may have a key that may be just what you need. You have already started the ball rolling by starting this discussion...keep it going. Good luck.

I can't really change when I'm available, since it depends on my work schedule, my husband's work schedule, and when my son needs things. :(
As for the notifications, I don't use them because I don't check my email as often as I check mylot, but I should perhaps start tracking when my friends start discussions!
Thanks for your suggestions!

I have quite a few friends that I enjoy here at mylot, so I guess that's why I was surprised to see so few of them around when I was on yesterday.
Yes, I think they can understand leaving for a couple days, especially if told. I usually try to tell my friends if I'm going to be really busy or offline, but I think that's just because I'm so involved in the online world. :P

LOL- sounds like bad timing! I have run into this too- I get some people trying to message me and as of late someone I really wanted to talk to and we keep missing each other completely online! So weird considering our schdules kind of match offline.
