TV Dinners

I was dreaming about TV dinners last night!! Actually, I was dreaming about resarvations at our hotel, and they could reserve a TV dinner that would be ready for them when they arrived. So I went shopping for TV dinners today. I took a friend with me who was telling me about how he had bought a large amount of one type of dinner that he ended up not liking. So he asked what my favorite was. Salsbury steak. I used to hate it, but now I LOVE it!! (Isn't that strange?) As it turns out, that's what he had!! He had 9 of them just hanging around in his freezer!! So he brought them to me here at the hotel, and I have one in the microwave now! I grew up on TV dinners, and now at 88 cents, they are good for a broke person. My favorite when I was younger was teh veal parmisan. Once I found out what veal was, I hooked myself on chicken parmisan. I haven't seen that in so long. Recently I was hooked on the beefsteak, but this salsbury steak has really grabbed me. I think I only tried it out of desparation when I didn't have any more of my beefsteak. YUMMY!! Got any favorites? Are there any you remember from yester-year that aren't arround any longer? Well, I'm gonna go stir and rotate. Enjoy your TV dinner!!

Wow, someone who is like me, haha. I've been eating TV dinners quite a bit this year because I was laid off. They are inexpensive and taste fine to me. I love the fried chicken one's, and the chicken strips, haha. Spaghetti one's aren't bad either. I usually add a salad with them, and if they have gravy, dip some buns in it. I bet the rich people out there don't know what we're talking about, haha.

On my last trip to the store, I found some mexican food ones for $1.12. They have two enchiladas and beans and rice!! Good deal for the price, pretty good, and enough food to satisfy my belly. PLUS!!! they are served in the paper trays instead of the plastic that the others are in now days.

I don't like the plastic trays because they are not biodegradable. So I have to wash them and put them in my recycle bag. But when I take them to work, I gotta just throw them away, and I don't like that.

Mmmmm, yummy!...Those sound great!..I'll have to look for them. I wish they all came in the paper instead of the plastic....I don't like eating off plastic that was microwaved, but I do...yuk, haha.

My all time fave which isn't really a tv dinner is chicken or turkey pot pie. I've always loved them as a kid and still do 20 some odd years later. Whenever there is an awesome sale on the Banquet ones, I buy a TON of them..literally.

I can't eat most TV dinners because of the corn starch they add to them. There are a couple of Italian ones by Michelangelo that are safe for me.

I like those, but they are just a tease. I get the big ones, or if I'm eating the cheap little 88 cent ones, I have to eat two to feel like I ate anything.
