Do you get annoyed when people respond to your discussions without reading?

This has probably been posted before because it can always happen. Someone just reads the first line of the discussion and then ignores the rest and then makes a huge reply. Then, when you read it, it makes no sense because they didn't really read the discussion. So, how annoyed does that make you really? Do you tell the person that what they said does not match your discussion at all? Or do you leave it be and give them a bad rating? Or, do you even rate them at all?

Hello dear highflyingxangel. I am happy for all responses to my discussions. I do not care about whether they read just one line or more so long as they respond to my discussions because I never expect that my discussions are related to as many people as possible. Therefore I appreciate them for whatever responses I could get. And positive ratings are always given in return for their responses for friendship. It is easier to lose a friend than to get a friend. I value my friends' responses very much. Thanks very much for your discussion, dear friend.

It always happens. No biggie there. Sometimes, you can actually blame the poster lol. If you choose a topic question that is not apt enough, well, don't jump. Or if you post too long a discussion. I am a blamable poster sometimes too but really, no fuzz. If you want to answer the topic question, that's fine with me. If you want to stick to other questions raised in the discussion or talk about the topic at large, that's fine by me too. If you want to answer some but not all or even a question not mentioned, that's fine too. Why should I be bothered? We are all here to have fun and we each have our own definitions.:P

I think you are absolutely right LordWarWizard. I am responding to the initial question not what everyone else writes if I am understanding this question correctly. Our time is valuable and I do try to read everything. I don't "go" with the crowd though. It makes me sad people just "lying in wait" for someone to slip up so they can run go "report them" I hope MyLot is also looking at frivilous "abuse" reports as well.

More than annoyed, I get amused; I have faced such incidents but I do not give a negative rating to the concerned person. I just respond by telling that person that "he/she has got it all wrong". ---------------- oooops! comes the reply.

I actually try to make sure they get the point withing the first sentence or 2. The rest of the discussion just elaborates on it further. If they only read the start of it they're still not likely to be off in left field or anything unless I'm talking about a game I play & they don't realize its under that interest. I've had a few of those & they just tend to be funny.

this happened to me just recently. i was really annoyed that i started a discussion just like this too. i got really annoyed because they answered based only on the first line and they didn't bother to read on. and when i read their responses, they were not actually what i was asking for. .

I get annoyed too. It's either they just read the first line of the discussion, or maybe not even that, and just the "title"...their response makes no sense at all. For the real "winners" in such responses I just respond by either "This has nothing to do with the discussion I started" Or most often a nice simple: "Duh?" As for rating ..usually don't rate at all

I get very annoyed when people rely to my responses in discussions without bothering to read them first, and then attribute views to me which are the precise opposite of my own. It is careless and shows disrespect. I have one discussion without any replies. The one time I did get a reply some idiot copy/pasted an entire article from Wikipedia in there. I downrated and reported him and the reply was removed. OK so maybe I lost money by that but I would rather have no responses at all than stupid ones.

I het really annoyed when someone does that.I had one experience with one person but he later apologised and said he hadn't read it all so he said agfter reading the whole discussion he understood where we talked about. I didn't give ratings at all so also no bad rates.I was glad he understood so no hard feelings at all.
