Has anyone been affected by the winter storms?

I live in a small town in Missouri. Yesterday we got freezing rain and today it was 62 F. Isn't that crazy? Last year we had a winter storm that caused our electric to be out for a week. Luckily we didn't lose our electric this year. I know that there has been a lot of electrical outages in several states and some really bad weather in spots. Has it affected you? If so do you have electric or some way to heat your home?

Yes, I was watching that on the news, and it sure looks rough, I feel for everyone affected! Us down here in Texas don't usually get it that bad!
But luckily, my parent's and I have been through so much, that if we ever did lose power, we know what to do to keep warm, and food, and water to survive!

No hurricanes, what we do have to put up with is tornadoes, we've been through a couple of those already!
We keep generators all the time, we do a lot of camping and fishing!

Yes we have to put up with tornadoes also. They scare the daylights out of me. Knock on wood but I've never had my actual house hit by one but I've been too close for comfort to many of them. I enjoy camping and fishing also but I don't do much camping anymore. I bet you get to fish a lot more than I do. I don't like fishing when it gets cold but I've heard that bass can see better when it's cold. I don't know how true that is. Have a great day.

yes, here,in our country,it's cold in winter too.but we never had a winter storm or freezing rain. we just have snow in wenter.Recent years, we even have seldom snow in winter, you know, global warming and greenhouse.anyway we also use central heating in some area of our country.Here, this city in south of China,wei yse electic to heat our home.:)wish you have a warm and comfortable winter

You're lucky that you don't get freezing rain. It's very pretty but very dangerous also. It seems that we mainly get freezing rain instead of snow now days. I would much rather have the snow. You can make snowmen, snow angels and lots of fun stuff with snow but nothing fun with ice. Thanks for your reply. Have a great day.

We have a bad transformer that sometimes gets hit just a little and we loss electricity. We are fortunate, that if we lose electric, we have a kerosene heater, but everyone would have to stay in one room to keep warm..My concern would be how cold it is and the other rooms getting too cold and having pipes freeze, that would be a nightmare..:(
