When you get sick do you go to the doctor immediately?

Do you go to the doctor immediately if you get sick? I know I don't but if my child is sick I will first make a call to the nurse then go from there. But as far as me I would give it a few days before I make a call to the nurse. What about you? What do you do when you are sick? What do you do when your child is sick?

whenever i get sick, i usually just apply the same remedy that has worked from past experience and if it didn't work... then i seek a specialist's opinion and visit a doctor. as long as i can still perform my usual tasks and the sickness will disappear in 1-2 days, i don't bother with a doctor. but if it's something unusual or i have never had it before, i will visit the doctor immediately.
as for kids, it's good to have a relative who is a pediatrician. we get free consultations over the phone for ordinary sickness and only go to the doctor's clinic when needed. :)

If I get sick it depends if I go or not. If it is something really really bad I will go. But for a simple cold or cough I won't. When it is my child it is the same. There are so many things you can do yourself as a parent before seeing the doctor. So I try to do all that I can first.

I get scared when it's my child...If it was me I just take some meds but with my child I would seek advice from a professional it's just me....Thank you for your response............

If i get sick i never call a nurse or a doctor, i try my best to drink medicine so no need to go & pay more money to the doctors or hospital because it the same medicine that i drink they will give me. Im 101% for that, even my daughter how many time she sick but i give her only the medicine that good for her, to all member in my family same thing they do. it easy to know whta medicine is good for you. so no need to go to hospital except if it fast already for 1 week and your still waek in that time you need to go for your check-up.

no i donot rush to the doctor till the time things are manageable but when it is realted to pain and stuff and if its un bearable than i may go ..
secondly my family physician is available only during the morning and in the evening for a desired time only.so even if i have to rush than will have to make call to him and than rush to his residence.

When I was sick, I always took medicines first, if the medicines does not work for me well, I will go to hospital. I have no child now, but I think when I have a child in the future, if he/she is sick, I will take her/him to hospital ASAP. LOL

Thank you for your great response. Yes we would put more concern on/in our kids then ourselves...That is what parenting is about, I believe....
