tagging question?

When you tag a response do you try to tag it something different than what is in the tag of the discussion? I try to do this, but since I can't see what the tags are, from responding from my email, I sometimes duplicate the tags already on the discussion. Did you get that? lol What happens to our tags that are duplicated? Do they just disappear. Have you ever seen your tag that you added, on their tag list? I have so I know it was a good one. Do you add a lot of tags to the ones that have no tags at all, or do you leave it blank so that you are the only one who responded and you might get the best response vote? Do we get paid more if we tag a response? Or is it just a polite thing to do? Tell me your views on tagging.

I tag by what I say in my response. Supposedly it's so we can find our responses later if we want to which I don't see why we would and I can think of easier ways to do it. No we don't get paid for doing it.
