How much do you MOVE about when you sleep?

I am someone who does not move much when I sleep. I sleep and wake up in the same position (almost the same). Also, since none of the stuff on my bed (pillow, bolster and soft toys) fall out of my bed, I believe I am someone who does not move much when I sleep. =P I know of people who moves a lot when they sleep. My cousin used to sleep with her mother (my auntie) when she was young. My auntie always waked up with bruises all around her bodies. The bruises are a result of my cousin's kicking. LOL That made my auntie decide to let my cousin sleep alone. Even now, my cousin still kicks and moves a lot when she sleeps. She will always wake up in a totally different position and her pillow and bolster will always be on the floor. What kind of a sleeper are you? Do you sleep like a stone (like me) or move about a lot (like my cousin)?

Well, judging by the pillows and the rest i sleep with, i dont move much.I mostly sleep watching the ceiling :) But i also know that some people use to move so much.My sister may sleep from the top side of the bed and wake up on the bottom, or at the floor LOL.At the process, she will also have managed to throw whoever sleeps next to her to the floor too.

Wow.. Your sister is as 'violent' as my cousin. LOL I sleep facing the left or right. I never feel good sleeping facing the ceiling. It somehow feels weird. I feel as if something is pressing on me. *shivers*

I'll toss and turn just before I go to sleep. After I go into sleep, I'll not move as much. =D

Yup.. she is a very violent girl.. LOL I sleep facing the left or right. I will decide the direction before I sleep and usually I will wake up facing the same direction. =P I have another cousin, she will always wake up in a very different direction. She will usually make 90 degrees or 180 degrees turns when she sleeps. Amazing..

I use to be a major thrasher in my sleep (which is one of the reasons my husband and I have seperate rooms and beds)...but over the past few weeks I've noticed that I'm not moving AT ALL in my sleep to the point tht its actually causing my already screwed up body some additional pain...Its not that I'm a heavy sleeper either because the slightest sound can wake me even WITH my meds...for some reaosn though I'm just not moving around at all..

Maybe massaging will help your body to relieve some pain? You should try it. Hope it helps =)

We move or turn our side of the body so many times during the period of sleeping. We turn or change our body side when we feel need. Sleeping or lying on an only side causes to tire the body. So we need to relax the laying body and we do turn our side. This all happens unconsciously so we could not count the turning actions of our body. It is noted that males takes more turns or move than females and fat people takes more move than slim enough.

Well,I am someone who doesnt go round n round in the bed when I am asleep..I sleep like a stone and u would find me in exactly the same position in the morning in the bed as I was at night...But this is not the case with my Brother and my Cousin...Both of them try their level best to hit the person sleeping next to them....LOL.Its certainly very irritating and frustrating when u r waked up in the midst of sleep with their kicks ...really unpleasant experience...So I alz make my Brother and Cousin sleep together n make them realise the pain that they cause to others.....Its really interesting to hear their conversation after that night of sleep...blaming each other for the hits that they experiences at night....LOL.

I turn about 3 times at night before day break and generally, am a still sleeper with minimum snoring sounds-I used to have my cousin who would bethrowing his leg upto my neck at when both us would share a bed as children-I thought he was the most difficult person to sleep with if I can remember!

I also am someone who doesn't move about a lot when I am sleeping. Unless I have my monthly I wake up in the same position that I fell asleep in 99% of the time. My daughter though is like your cousin. She twists and turns and kicks all night long. I have seen her wake up with her feet at the head of her bed!! Her pillows and blankets are always a twisted mess and often end up on the floor.

LOL From the discussion so far, it seems like most people move a lot when they sleep. We are the rare ones who do not move much =)

I guess you are more conscious about your movements when you sleep at your hubby's place. That's why you move less. =)

hmmm I move a lot when I sleep. My counsins don't want to sleep with me coz they usually wake up in the floor. My bed is good for 3 people but seems like its enough for me. Though I have many pillows to which I intently bought to work as my landing pad in case I fall. But so far I haven't fell of my bed. Only those who sleep next to me.

Wow.. I would not dare to sleep beside you too. Maybe you should put your mattress on the floor and try sleeping on the floor (like what the Japanese people do). It might be good for you and people who sleeps with you. =P

i'm not much of a MOVER when i sleep. in fact, my bed looks the same when i wake up as when i jump in it the night before to sleep. but when my 2 kids sleep with me, the bed looks like there are ten people who slept in it. i cannot sleep well when i'm with my kids - there were times when they will hit or kick me (i don't know if they're dreaming or what!). in my family, (my husband and 2 kids), i'm the one who doesn't move much when asleep.

Actully, when I enter to deep sleep, I will take a 360 degrees of turn. My mum said that sleep with me like a very terrible thing. But I think that not as terrific what her discribled. Maybe I fell asleep, so I don't know what happened.

LOL You sound like my cousin. I am sure you sleep on a big bed. A small bed would not be big enough for you to make a 360 degrees turn.

Oh boy, don't even ask LOL I move so much I believe the main source of my exercise routine is my sleep time :) Pillows appear in the most incredible sites, the covers usually end on the floor and I often wake up sideways in the bed when hubby is not there. The strange thing is that when I feel someone else in the bed I don't move as much. Apparently I still try to steal the covers and then throw them on the floor, but at least I wake up in the same direction I set off to sleep LOL No bruising either which is a good thing:) It seems that when I was a kid I used to get up - still sleeping - take out the covers, pull the mattress onto the floor and then lay down on the mattress. I also used to put the bed sheets hanging on the doorknob hehehehe

Haha.. Sleeping to you seems like a lot of fun. LOL I wish my sleeping is as fun as yours. When there's someone beside one, one definitely feels more conscious. I guess that's why you don't move as much. It's very natural. =D

i tend to roll around alot when i sleep and knock off the blankets. when i sleep with my hubby, he steals the blankets off me so i wake up cold. i also have restless leg syndrome, so my legs jump as well.

It must be a lot because last night I went to bed wearing two sweaters and a top and when I woke up I wasn't wearing any of them. It was really rather weird!

This s a healthy discussion that i would personally admire and choose to respond to in an extensive manner. To be informal/frank i move alot when i sleep ,i do not say it is good but i beleive that movement is only caused in physical or mental unrest and the consequences are not well,if we keep thinking about something that we have done wrong then we are ina mental unrest and i beleive tha generates movements in our sleep,we fight for sleep or awakeness ,when this fight goes on we cannot decide what to do,although we finally wake up as a consequence ,the duration of the fight may be movements in our sleep. The positive side is that i we are completely relaxed and satisfied with ourselves we would not want to complete anything or be tensed in any manner which would allow no fight and consensus would thus brng about no movement. =)

Well I'm a restless sleeper. I first need to be in the perfect position and blanket needs to just right before I can even fall asleep. Then I wake up often and switch sides. My husband calls me wormzilla.
