Do you think abortion is right in some ways or plain wrong? Here's a couple of situations to think about.. rape, baby that's going to be born with down syndrome, teen pregnancy, not being able to take care of the child financially. What are your views of abortion and why? Do you think it should be completely legal to everyone out there or open under certain circumstances? Would you rather the child be put up for adoption? I mean hey, who has the right to deny someone life, no matter how young. Do you think the government or anyone has the right to tell a woman what she can or cannot do to her body?

I am pro-choice. And I don't feel I have any right to quantify or validate what a woman's reasons are for terminating. It should be legal (& safe) for any woman who chooses to terminate to a reasonable stage of gestation.

I disagree with abortion however I respect another person if this is their decision. I think an unborn baby is innocent and he or she is at the mercy of his or her mother. I can't imagine someone getting job satisfaction in carrying out terminations. Pregnancy is a time of high emotion and hormones playing up making women quite emotional sometimes. Many woman make the wrong decision to abort but then it is too late. No amount of money will bring this lost person into the world. Everyone in the world has some value. Who knows what the baby being aborted might do one day if he or she was allowed the chance to live. Madonna became a pop star, Shakespeare became a writer and Mother Theresa did fantastic work with the poor. I have worked with Down Syndrome children and seen how lovely they are. Disability can be sad but aborting such a child would be a very bad thing to do. Teenagers can be irresponsible. If a girl gets pregnant at 14 adopting her baby might be an excellent idea. Again adoption would be a fantastic idea for a poor lady that had little money to care for a baby. In the 1960s adoption was commonplace. My mum's friend was infertile. She adopted a little baby girl from a teenage mother then a couple of years later a little baby boy from a business woman. These days both mothers might have aborted their baby. I say give a child a chance and adopt. This is what a baby deserves, a loving family. The government is in a difficult position. Woman feel they should be able to do what they like, after all its their body. If abortion is made illegal it will probably move to backstreet illegal clinics. A limit of up to 24 weeks is horrible and upsetting. A baby born at 23 weeks luckily survived with excellent medical care. If say a 12 week limit was made many ladies would rush into having an abortion without thinking carefully enough.

I personally do not believe in abortion. I do believe there is ALWAYS other options that a woman can make other then killing off her offspring. The ONLY time I think a woman should be able to have the choice to abort would be either incest or rape. But, even then, I still don't think abortion is the answer. But I can understand why a woman would make that choice under those circumstances. I don't think the government has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body but I also don't think anyone has the right to stop another person from living.

Hi, In my opinion abortion is not right. Moreover if it is in the case if the life of mother or baby is danger then I hope abortion unavoidable. Purpose intentions of aborting is something murder or an unborn baby who is totally unaware of rights. If any want to abort just inform to those charities and adoptions centers there are many out who are willing to give a pleasant life to that baby. I hope those who want intentionally to abort a baby may be there is no guarantee whether they will also tend to abort that baby when after grown up too. In that case it is criminal offense which is punished. Anyhow it the wish to do what they want with their own body. But there is another body within them which has two rights one of mother and one who is responsible for that the father who is owner of the sperm. Anyhow this is common discussion here even I had put up topics were I could see that these discussions get more responds as long as that willingness to admit that abortion is wrong do not prevails. In opinion the pregnancy after rape may matter the mental condition of the rape victim. Hence it may better to consult with a psychiatrists.

Ok, I have a serious problem with abortions. I am a woman who is unable to have kids of my own and I would love to have a child. People who get pregnant and say..."Oh, I don't think I want to have this baby" need their behinds kicked!! If they didn't want a child - why did they lay down and make it in the first place? This just baffles me. Now as far as someone who has been raped, I can understand that someone may not want to be in a childs life that would remind them of what happened to them, BUT - they can always have the child and put it up for adoption. I'm sure there are plenty of people who are willing to love and care for that child. I don't think there should be a law over what anyone - man or woman - can do with their bodies, but to abort a baby is just wrong in my book.

Thanks arr. That is really appreciated. And to taz, don't listen to all the garbage that is thrown your way....it's been coming my way to. At first it bothered me and then it just made me sad that there are so many angry people out there. I know that, God willing you will be able to have a child. He works in mysterious ways, so I will be praying that you will be able have that child you have always wanted. Good luck and God bless you

"Shellfish, you have been reported for your treatment of asgtswife and tazpromote." YAY!!!!! Do I get a prize? "What you said to them and the way you used the copy paste feature is unacceptable." You can copy and paste all you want. It's not illegal. If you weren't such a know it all, or at least a pseudo know it all, you'd know that copy/pasting and then RESPONDING under the copy/paste makes the forum go better. Looks like myLot did absolutely NOTHING to me. Looks like I was right and you're, well, never mind. "Speaking of copy/paste, I included that in my report. Those who abuse and misuse the copy/paste feature should not have the priviledge of using it at all. " Wah. You think I care? You think myLot cares? You need to go play at Yuwie. They have a block feature there. You also need to pull your head out of your a*s and realize that copy/pasting and then RESPONDING to what I copy/pasted is NOT against myLot rules. Stealing someone else's response is. My responses wer CLEARLY inside the copy/paste of all the responses I do. So report away. myLot won't do anything. I did not violate any rules or go against posting guidelines. =)

Until the government can carry a pregnancy to term, no one has the right to tell me what to do with my uterus. The second they start, they are more than welcome to remove it from my body. I am not a slave or a servant. I am a woman with free will. I can and will do what I want with my body and if that includes an abortion, then so be it. I don't poke my nose into other uteruses, so please, keep your nose out of mine. Adoption is fine and dandy. But I'm not ruining my life to provide an infant for a needy bigoted couple when there are millions of millions of perfectly good adoptable older children waiting on homes right now. Why are they not good enough? Why do people want to wait 10 years or more for an infant? My working uterus does not mean I owe anyone anything because someone else's uterus does not work.

i totally agree and defend a woman's right to choose in most circumstances. there are only a few situations where i would probably avoid undergoing the procedure, but it is not my right to direct what anyone else does.

It's wrong nor right. It's really down to the person and not for me to pass judgement, although I don't like the idea of it. at times it's best, why bring children into a world that they can't be protected and given the love they deserve? on the other hand why just kill them without giving it consideration? I think young people generally rush the idea of having children, alot of thought is needed but if that's been given then I have to say the right choice is what they choose to do. Life's hard enough at times.. ~Joey

Money shouldn't come in to it. They're are many grants and benefits given to those who can't afford a child without this sort of help. It should only be considered if all the down sides over weigh the plus, pretty simple. ~Joey

"They're are many grants and benefits given to those who can't afford a child without this sort of help. It should only be considered if all the down sides over weigh the plus, pretty simple. " 1. You have to be black. 2. If you own your own home, no one can help you.

I don't agree with abortion. It is about killing an innocent child. Well, I know it has been very rampant these days. People from different races and culture engage with this due to their own personal struggles. I don't exactly understand them but I will respect their decision.

I think if a woman is raped she has every right to have an abortion. It would be hard enough the fact that she was raped but then to have to go through a pregnancy for 9 months would be even worse. I myself would never have an abortion but i dont see how someone who was raped could go through a pregnancy under those circumstances. And when i got pregnant i decided that if there was anything wrong with my baby (downs syndrome, spinal cord defects, etc.) i would still keep it. I think it would be better if they are put up for adoption. But we need to think this way also. If there wasnt abortion how over crowded would foster homes and such be? Im sure it would be pretty bad. And no i do not think that the government has a right to tell a woman what she can and cannot do. She should be allowed to make her own decision. But one of these days that might possibly change.
