In the modern word today where everything seems to be modern and in fashion, what comes into your mind when you hear the line "I am conservative" from someone specially from your girlfriend? Conservative is another word for "old fashion". I believe in certain rules the old fashion way. Those which should be embedded in concrete... and never be digged out. We cannot generalise about this... because there are a lot of rules in this world. I would need to know what she is conservative about before making any comment. I don't consider myself a conservative person. But at the same time... I have some strong moral values... which seem to have been lost today. And I don't mean in a religious way... because I am not religious at all. It is about ethics. What's right and what's wrong. Checking your profile... and finding out you are 26. That mean that she is her 20's... and from the Philipines. Very simple. In her case... conservative means "very religious". If you are not religious... she is not for you.

The way I think about it... is that if you don't have it... you should hide it. But if you have it... you should flaunt it... because whatever God gave you... you should use it. If you don't... you are a loser. This is not a nice world... whatever you may think. It is everyone for itself. And if you have the looks... and don't use them... it is your loss.

I like to be conservative, because it is based on conserve and I take a few points from modernism. I do not care whether someone likes it or not. I do not live for others. Therefore I have every reason to believe in what I believe and I have no objection if my other half likes modernism. I do not insist others shoudl tread my path.

I am not gay so let's say it was my boyfriend. If I heard that sentence, I would think that we wouldn't agree on anything except the weather.I am in the center leaning so far left that I am about to fall. When I hear conservative, I think of a pro life, ultra religious person who wants to convert me to their religion. And believes that a family is whole only when it is a man and a woman with kids.Me, I am pro choice and I believe that the separation of church and state is the best thing about America. And that the term " family" means Any group of people living together and loving one another. Especially gay couples.so you see unless he likes movies as much as I or he likes hockey as much I we won't have anything in common.

well in my day if you hear someone make a statement like that would mean they were very tight with their money or they were not the type to go out and do anything that would cost much money. They would just stay to the bare necessities of what they needed ,no extra's.Using the word that your girlfriend used to me would mean maybe old fashioned in her beliefs. Not modern at all, just very down home, down earth and no frills as far as the modern day?i would feel that she does not go out for modern at all, just stick to the basics...She believes in saving more than spending, and she will not go out for all the styles and expensive things in life.It could also mean she is conservative in Love also, she will not be in a frillous relationship, she is the serious type...I could be wron but thats what i got out of her statement.

hahaaa... depending the context the response was given. In my opinion, she is highlighting the difference between she and you, especially when she is your girlfriend. It is a thought-provoking response. lol.

To me, if this is a person I am realy interested in as a possible life long possibility then great! I would take time to get to know her, she has principals and a moral cocianse. Great traits in a life partner don't you think? Only a shallow person interested only in their own self gratification would reject such a jewel. A presous jem only reveals itself after much hard work and care, a rock is too common, so do you want a diamond, or a pebble to be tossed away?

It would depend on the context of the discussion. In lifestyle for a young person to deal with clothing, drinking, personal matters it is fine. Then the more a person learns some of the core values and philosphy of life changes. The skimpy dress may become more modest or vice versa. When I was in my 20's I was a conservative Republican, even voted for Goldwater. Now 40 years later I am more liberal in idealogy. I am more able to absord other ideas and chose my own way. For a young woman I think that in say fashion being conservative is to be admired. Too many flaunt around like pop tarts and dont realize how they are perceived.
