Well so far the plans are my daughter will pick the grandsons up early enough on Christmas Eve from her ex-s & that she will pick my wife up from work & they all will be staying overnight. We will more than likely open gifts after 10:30 p.m. when they get to my house as they have a long drive Christmas morning to go to the son-in-laws family for dinner etc there. So far as far as I know for Dinner Christmas it will be just myself, my wife and dad. Have not asked the son if her will be here for dinner or not. So what are your plans for Chrictmas eve with family/friends? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

One year I had a cabbie friend that was dressed as Santa on Christmas Eve. He happened to be dropping a fare off at our building. I ran down with gifts for the kids from Santa and had him make an entrance knocking on the door. My daughters eyes and smile were priceless that day. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

our plans? well lots i guess but time is the essence we want to drive downtown together with the children just to see the sceneries full of lights and decorations..but if it will rain then we have to stay home..while at home we do some fun, activities like as family we play card games or do some karaoke we love to sing while waiting for the 12:00 oclock dinner and open our gifts..luckily all my children are still living with us and my mom too..

Downtown to see lights and decorations? No houses with big displays near you at all? You can still see them with rain falling can't you? Unless you're walking I guess. I don't miss kids actually. The grandsons are great as they go away after awhile. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi Grandpa Bob! We are leaving this Sunday to go out of town to our friends for Christmas. We won't be back until Dec 26th or 27th depending on the weather. That means I will be there for a few days before Christmas and not just Christmas Eve. Will be nice! Luv & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear

Christmas Eve is a big day here at my home. I cook the ham for Christmas dinner this night. I also make the pumpkin pies. I make the deviled eggs also. Christmas eve is a day of family cooking and great snaking. We eat fruit plates and veggie plates all day. Later is the evening I put out a cheese platter with meats as well. We settle down with the movies called Santa Claus with Tim Allen in them. There will be three movies this year to watch. Lots of cooking lots of sampling and lots of just plain family fun. My mom and dad will come to dinner and join my husband and daught and myself this year. My cousin has an open invitation but she normally comes over later in the evening. The reason I cook so much on Christmas eve is so that we can spend more time together on Christmas day as a family and not in seperate rooms in the house. I love Christmas because it is a time for the family to be one. Happy hollidays to all and to all a good night.

What is "great snaking"? Sounds like a great fun filled family time for you all. My wife works and we cook the dinner starting early morning. Porbably ham as well for us this year. Just her, myself, and dad so far. Our son may visit but no word on that yet. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We will be going to my parents house for Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve has always been a tradition in my family. We open our presents at night and then go to my Aunt's house to meet the rest of the family. We have a really neat supper with all the traditional foods my family loves for that night. There's cold shrimp for shrimp cocktail, raw beef sandwiches, a really awesome spread that my grandmother but now I make called shinkinsmear, salads, cheeses and sausages etc. Then at 10 p.m. we all go to Christmas services at our church. Afterwards the younger kids lay down and all of us play games like pictionary and Mad Gab. It's my favorite night of the whole year. In fact I have never in my 38 years opened gifts on Christmas morning.

Whatever happens AGB I hope you have a wonderful time! For the first time in more than 10 years since my partner and I have been together we are having a lovely quiet Christmas Day with just us and the kids for dinner! Normally we have to travel to his mothers and have dinner with her even though her daughter lives 5 minutes away it is the first time we have been able to persuade her to spend time with her Mum on christmas day and I always refused to leave her alone on Christmas Day - that just wasn't right! This year I am just not fit to travel and we are going to have a lovely lazy Christmas Day where the kids can play with their presents and my best friend will come up with her partner for a while and exchange presents then instead of before - fantastic! xxx

Awwww! You still like calling me AGB? Too sweet. I have wanted a stay at home Holiday for a couple years. But I don't think I could not handle not seeing the grandkids. Not seeing my own kids would be okay. But I'd miss the grandkids terribly. but one alone with just my wife and myself would be different. I tried to talk her into going out for Thanksgiving Dinner instaed of to the daughters but that never happened. And I had a blast at our daughters house anyhow. Have a blast with your small celebration. I would. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have a large family gathering, but sometimes I feel like I'd rather go carolling. This is an extended family, so I'm not very close to them. And making small talk throughout the night can be quite tiring. but i guess it's also an obligation, so we'll see how it goes...

On Christmas Eve we will be going to my mom's house around lunchtime and eating with the family. Then around 6 pm we will go to my husband's grandmother's house to eat with his family. Then we'll probably come home and open gifts that we have bought for each other. Then on Christmas Day we will go to my grandmother's house for breakfast, then go to my father in law's house, and then on to my mother in law's house. So we will be busy those two days.

I miss the days when my mom was alive. She loved coming to my place to see all the decorations and lights etc. Big family get togethers are no longer a norm in my family it sees. Oh well. I still have my kids and grandkids to celebrate with anyhow. Happy Holidays. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I will have to work Christmas Eve. When I get off we will exchange gifts at the sitters then go home. AT home my daughter and I will each open a gift and have hot chocolate while we watch "The Christmas Story' and laugh at little Ralphie's antics. Then off to bed so Santa can come. 'He' still leaves gifts even though we are older.

Yeah it sucks working the day before huh? My wife works till 10 P.M. So she will be home around 11 at the latest as long as the restaraunt isn't very busy. It's a Middle eastern Restaraunt so with it mostly Muslims eating they may be busy. Never know though. Santa always leaves me something. My daughter and wife think it's crazy I do this but I love it a lot. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We dont do much on Christmas Eve for most Christmasses. This Christmas was worse, as my husband was depressed about what happened with his son two nights before, when he attempted to assualt me. The plan for Christmas was called off, that is, my family were told not to come by my hubby. He considered banning his son from coming, but we ended up having him anyway, after receiving a rude text message from him. We we due to pick them up at 3.00pm, then have christmas tea around 7.30pm. I will tell you later how it went. Did your son end up coming?
