Well I am sitting here having my morning coffee dunking a plain donut into it for the sweetness and all. Or as some peo[le call them, "fried cakes".So do you have a prefrence when it comes to donuts? Any particular donut for specific times etc? For my morning coffee I prefer a plain donut for dunking. But I really prefer and love a Chocoalte Eclair. I love the creme filling. So do you do donuts daily dear friends? HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

The Donut Dunk - Dunking Donuts into tea or coffee.
Hi, Grandpa Bob! Merry Yule to you!Firstly, I have to say that I haven't had a donut for absolutely ages... and I love them! I'll clear one little thing first, as I'm English, and it's a case of potaytoes and potartoes. lol. Here, we call jelly, jam. It's a conserve that is made with fruit and lots of sugar and jarred... correct? We do call some jellies, being the spreads without bits of fruit in, but normally a jelly is something made in a mould, which sets and is eaten at kids' parties. Ok... that understood, I have never actually tried dunking a donut... not in tea or coffe. I love 'em as they are, particularly when they're fresh, hot and crispy around the edges. We can buy them, cooked while we wait, in seaside towns... in Brighton, they sell them on the pier... crepes have become popular too in these situations. They are the basic, small, ring doughnuts, dipped in sugar to coat and they're the best ever! If I buy donuts from the baker or supermarket, where they can also be found fresh and warm, I prefer the jam-filled ones. But, your mention of chocolate eclairs had me drooling because they, and the cream and jam-filled, icing topped cream slices, were always my favourite. When it comes to dunking, again as an English person, I like to dunk my biscuits, particularly the plain ones. I never dunk chocolate biscuits or creams, but the plain ones, like Nice, Ginger Nuts or Digestives are great when dunked!:) I have to say though, that I love the dinky donuts you can buy in the burger bars, with a toffee dip in which to dunk them. Yummy-yum!!!;P Brightest Blessings my friend, and happy dunking!

I think you might be referring to Rich Tea, which are fingers, or Sponge Fingers which are quite hard on the outside and sprinkled with sugar. Nice are an oblong shape, crispy but hard and sprinkled with sugar, and Ginger Nuts and Digestives are round. Ginger Nuts are quite hard, but then all our biscuits are hard and crispy. I'm not sure if they're the same ones as you've tried or not. Confused yet? he he.

The biscuits you mention, are those hard and kind of finger shaped? If so I've had them dunked and they are tasty as a donut. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

donuts are suddenly very very popular in my country. There are small shops springing up all over the malls and it neighbourhood centres. selling just donuts. of course in every flavour and shape that you can imagine. i think it's just a fad, like bubble tea was. hundreds of shops mushroomed and in a few years the bubble burst (literally) and these shops had to shut down. i prefer chocolated coated donuts. but donuts are quite unhealthy since they are deep fried in loads of oil. there are also those icing sugar coated ones that are very yummy. you can see who's winning the battle here in my mind...

it's this sugared drink that can be flavoured in honeydew, apple, peach, you name it they have it. there are pearls made of sago at the bottom. in california it's known as Boba tea. oh yes, people love krispy kreme but i find it too sweet.

Thanks alot! I'm trying to watch what I eat and now I feel this big urge to stop and get donuts on the way to work! LOL I'm not really a "donut dunker". I absolutely love any donut that's custard filled. My problem is I have such a sweet tooth I never can eat just one!!

Yum yum. Actually I just went to Dunkin Donuts last night and it really energized my evening. But I've never really tried dipping the donut into the coffee. Hmmm, maybe some day I'll try that. Yeah chocolate eclair is delicious. I also like Boston Creme.

I love chocolate covered donuts! My son is bringing a treat in for his class tomorrow to celebrate his birthday and he chose donuts because he said cupcakes make too big a mess!

I seldom do donuts, because to me they are very addictive. Sometimes just smelling them makes me hunger for them. I need to lose weight. The most recent "donut" experience I had was at school. Our cook made maple frosted long johns. So fresh and wonderful. She is terrific.

I don't eat donuts very often. I like them too much and will eat too many if I get started LOL. I like the cinnamon sugar donuts that look like they are twisted. Those are my favorites. I'll eat the glazed ones too and the ones that have chocolate and sprinkles on top. My husband likes the ones with the creme in the middle but I don't care too much for those.

Oh yes, fried cakes. lol. I think I have had only 2 or 3 donuts all year. And I have not had a chocolate eclair in years. I like anything chocolate, but man they are so unhealthy and full of calories. I do love a donut with a hot cup of coffee. What a delema. This is harder than choosing a candidate for president and probably more important. The donut shop is less than a mile away. What am I gonna do now? I am due to have a donut any time now...lol.

When my kids were little they used to stay with the grandparents for a week. The oldest had gotten a job so on this special summer we had a week to ourselves. I bought us a big New York Cheesecake.....plain and we put cherries on it. It was quite expensive and by the end of the week we were really getting to the point of not wanting to finish it off before the other two got home and we didn't want to throw it away because of the cost...we actually drew straw to see who had to eat the last piece!

No I only have them on occasion. When I do I love to have a Bismark filled with custard and with chocolate frosting on the top. I love it when you bite into it and the custard squeezes out and you have to quick catch it with your tongue!

I do like my morning coffee. But only on rare occassions do I have donut to go with it. I usually eat oatmeal. But I do like chocolate eclair. But have to agree with you, if I were a dunker I would have to go with the plain one.

Ohhh the chocolate eclairs are awesome. Theres a store near us, Bobs Produce Ranch, that makes their own baked goods. They have the best eclairs. But they sell out so quickly you have to get there before 8 a.m. to get one. Hahahahaha!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Plain donuts are just fine with me. When I want something a little fancier, I like the ones topped with chocolate, or chocolate donuts topped with chocolates. I love coffee whether I have donuts or no donuts, but donuts are always nice. I miss Tim Horton's (Canadian chain) since they don't have them down here in Arizona.

Hi Grandpa Bob! So we are a happy dunker this morning are we? LoL. My favorite donut is called a Boston Cream. It has a cream filling on the inside, and it is a plain donut, but has had the top dipped in chocolate! Yuuuummmm! Now I want one, thanks a bunch hehe! I only really like filled donuts for some reason, not a big fan of just regular like ones unless it's an Apple Fritter, those are good! Luv & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

I don't really have a favorite donut. I do not really care for the cream filled ones. Other than that I like most kids of donuts. I do not eat them all that often either. I would say once or twice a month. I try to not buy them very often because if I buy them I will eat them.
