Just turned all my friend notifications on

Yep, every single one of them! One hundred and thirty eight to be exact. So starting now if any of my friends start a discussion and don't hear from me it's because
A. I honestly could not answer no matter how much I thought about it,
B. I'm not on the computer yet, or
C. I have no idea what I've gotten myself into and am horribly far behind with not enough time to catch up!
So hurry up everybody and start some discussions for me to answer! I've made a decision to devote some time for my friends and I'm going to get awfully bored if you guys aren't talking! LOL

Well, I guess we'll just have to change that then won't we! I wouldn't want to miss a totally awesome discussion...especially since I love your name, it's what I call my oldest daughter except I spelled her name with 3 L's.

Oh wow! So if I start 50 new discussions per day, you are going to respond to every one of them?! Wow! That's awesome! I'm going to get started right away! Lol. Just kidding. That is pretty cool though, Thanks!

Woah, slow down there a little lol, 50 a day?! Well I'd definitely be devoted to you if I did answer them all, my other friends would get totally neglected though...not that they seem to be starting much tonight, I've only gotten 2 notifications since I started this.

Lol. I have noticed that mylot hasn't been as busy as usual these past few days. I think maybe because it is so close to Christmas that people are probably just busy out and about doing holiday stuff so they are not on the net as much as they normally are...Just guessing. Watch out once the holiday season is over though, you're probably going to get bombarded with emails then! Lol!

LOL nope all it took was for me to say gee only two notifications in all this time. Then next thing I knew I got them left and right. I answered most and am caught up again now!

Wow, I couldn't imagine turning on each of my friends notifications as I believe I have close to 700 friends now. Plus with being on dial up it I could just imagine never being able to keep up on mylot if they were all on as I'd be reading emails all day long (or trying to! :P). I have a hard enough time keeping up as it is LOL, but even more so now since my phone has been out for the past few days and I just got back online tonight. I'm trying to go through all my emails as I'm typing this (I have about 40 friends notifications turned on) and I ended up having over 100 emails! Just think of how many I would have if every single notification was on? Yikes! I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and search through the "discussions my friends started" that way I don't get too overwhelmed! :P
Good luck in not getting too swamped with emails (unless of course you want that)! :D

Ooh...I remember my dial up days! That was so hard. I got just as much work done here then as I do now except then I was pretty much alone while I mylotted and could have it on all day and didn't share the computer with anyone. Now I'm on DSL but s/o uses it and the boys are almost always around so I'm constantly going back and forth between the computer and everything else.
So far I've gotten surprisingly few notifications. There's only been about 4 or 5 posting regularly. Maybe it will pick up after the holidays.

I share my desktop with my kids and husband. We do have a laptop, though what's the point in using it when I have only one phone line anyway. DSL and cable are not available in my area, otherwise I would have gotten either by now. My husband is so fed up with dial up that he's willing to get satellite, but I'm hesitant as I know it costs a lot more than what we are paying now. And like you I'd probably get as much work done here as I do now so it wouldn't be worth it to get satellite. Or would it? :P

You must be a very brave young woman, foxyfire! I remember when I had only about 10 on-my mail was swamped all the time and I had to pare it down to about 4. anyway, I'm wishing you luck with that, lol.

It's been a lot slower than I expected. Only about 4 or 5 of them have been posting discussions. Once I have a better idea of who the regular posters are I'll start paring down based on that.

This is the way that I have worked MyLot for a long time. I work out of my e-mail and try to answer as many discussions that my friends start as I can. If I don't have anything to contribute then I move on to the next one. I don't start too many discussions. Just one every now and then, I mainly respond to discussions that are started.

I think you were the one to give me the idea actually and I'm just now finally getting around to it. So far it seems nice but we'll see how I feel about it tomorrow when I sit down to 50 discussions waiting and more coming in at a constant stream lol

Ambitious ! Good for you. I can never keep up. I really try. Honestly I do. and before I know it, typers cramp. My fingers get sore. I never quite catch up. Hats off too you! Best of luck.

So far so good today but I know if I didn't have the house to myself I would have been way behind already. i haven't checked my inbox in a while so I'm sure there are several waiting for me, I just wanted to get caught up on my discussions before returning to my friends.

I turn mine on at the same time someone joins my friends list. The only time I don't respond to a post is if I don't know what they are talking about or if I really cannot contribute anything positive. I do not want to just write something dumb for the sake of writing something.

Thanks Adoniah! Silly me never thought to turn them on at the time I accepted them and by the time I did think of it I was already way behind. I'm glad I figured out a quicker way to catch up on all the ones I missed otherwise I'd still have a lot turned off.

I agree I turned all of my friends on too so that I can answer all of their stuff first, then I that way if I dont get to everyone I took care of my friends first. So how are ya anyway fine I hope.

My day has been surprisingly good despite it's bad start if you read my other discussion about the MIL. She came home in a good mood so all's well here again.
