I was wondering if anyone new wether or not it was ok to freeze fresh garlic cloves? my husbnd loves his garlic so we purchase garlic cloves by the tub in a cointainer with prepeeled garlic cloves... even though he loives his garlic we never get around to finishing them off before they turn brown and stink up the fridge.. i was wondering if anyone new if it were ok to freeze them? Like oyu would fresh veggies? thanks in advance.

Yes, you can freeze fresh garlic cloves. Most sites recommend putting them in oil before freezing them to avoid a change in taste and texture though.

thank you very much for your response. Do you happen to know what kind of oil we would put them in before we freeze them?

Any oil would work, but I would suggest olive oil. Also, do not let garlic packed in oil sit out at room temperature. It can grow bacteria fairly quickly. Always keep it frozen or refrigerated.
