It's not Shrek 4. It's Shrek the Halls. A half hour Christmas special. Not another movie. I thought it was cute and the boys loved it.

The movie did three distinct things for me.
1. it made me laugh. It was a great movie that held to the humor that has made Shrek so popular.
2. it held to the Christmas tradition. Not easy when you are talking about ogres, donkeys, and puss-in-boots.
3. it stayed with the Shrek theme which I really loved. It didn't stretch itself to be more than what it is supposed to be and it carried the Shrek storyline very nicely.

Also just as a clarification... this is NOT Shrek 4.
"Shrek the Fourth" is in production right now and is slated to come out in 2010.
The fifth Shrek is slated to be out in 2013.

Many of the 1400 artists employed at the DreamWorks studio in Los Angeles are busy working on the next two in the series.
"The fourth film will come out in 2010 and the fifth in 2013," says Jeffrey Katzenberg, the former Disney chief who a decade ago founded DreamWorks with his pals David Geffen and Steven Spielberg, and heads the studio's animation arm.
I can only guess it is easier to write the scripts, get the actors in the studio and then work on the animation in seperate steps. I'm pretty psyched to see where this goes... a TV series possibly (like The Emporer's New Groove?).

Just by watching the commercial I think it's probably an horrible movie done just to make money. Shrek's first christmas? He has three kids and has known Fiona for some time yet he never celebrated christmas before??

I have watched it. It wasn't as bad as i thought. The CGI was good and I loved Puss as the sexy Santa (I want that toy if it exists!) But of course the plot was the classic plot of a christmas special...
