We celebrate Christmas on 7th of January, but to all of you who are celebrating now, Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the well wishes. Is there a religious reason behind celebrating on the 7th?

Well, I'm from Macedonia, and as the most of the eastern Slavs (if you don't know, Russians, Ukranians, Serbs, Macedonians...) we are Orthodox Christians, and our church uses the Julian Calendar, which is the Calendar that was used until 18th century, and it differs 2 weeks from the Gregorian calendar, which is used worldwide.

I have spent a bit of time in Belarus, but the Christians there are Russian Orthodox. I believe they use the Gregorian calendar. So you belong to what we call Greek Orthodox?

Wow, this is a new bit of information. I never knew anything about Christmas being celebrated on the 7th of January. Wish you also Merry Christmas in advance, Vucjak.

Yes, and by that calendar the new year is on 14th of january, so we call that Old New Year :) Thanks for the wishes. Merry Xmas and happy New Year. And After your holidays, come to Macedonia, and we'll celebrate again :)
