everyone has heard of the tv show forensic files. Does anyone think that show shouldnt be airing. I like the show but i think they give our to much information bout the crimes. People can watch this show and learn how to kill from it and learn how to hide it better so they wont get caught. anyone feel the same way?

I am actually a Crime Scene Tech/CJ student and all these shows do is make it difficult on prosecutors. Jurors have been found recently to expect impecable evidence at every crime scene at it just isnt that easy. There isn't always that perfect print or dna sample left behind. Often the techs ruin it trying to collect a sample. As far as criminals being able to hide it better it is highly unlikely. There are perfect crimes out there but the shows are not teaching them. Trust me.

Well, besides the fact they are idiots people tend to get so involved in these types of shows they think they are 100% accurate. CSI is the worst about this. That show is so far off its ridiculous. If it was that easy we would never have any unsolved crime. There are like 15 of those shows now and it drives me crazy. Not to mention everyone becomes an expert after watching them. Its silly.

I think this during shows such as CSI. I wonder if it gives people an outlet on how to kill and get away with it. The more I thought about it, the more I realized it isn't television shows that are teaching people how to do those things. If people want to do it, they are going to do it.

but like it gives them ideas on how to get rid of the evidence. but then also like the guy above you said our research stuff is more advanced so maybe its not but its still giving criminals ideas

that used to be one my favorite shows! I don't think that someone would be stupid enough to try to kill someone using info from the show after all the person who committed the murders on the show were probably caught so the chances are pretty high that you would get caught too if you tried something like that.

Nope... The forensic show that is being aired are using old methods...It is more than likely that they have more advanced ways to do forensic... Even if people can watch the show and learn how to destroy evidence, there will always be some evidence left...Its like if you stab a person, you can't control where the blood will spill...even when you wiped it off clean, it is possible to still track the traces through other means etc
