I always wondered why in England they drive on the left side! It seems awkward to me and confusing! But nevertheless is a fact as the opposite for the Brits. Any historic clues about this matter?

Hello kramatav princesslexie's answer is exactly what I wanted to say. I can add that in the past in all Europe they were driving on the left, but then Napoleon changed the rules for all his colonies (i.e pretty much all Europe BUT Great Britain) So the brits are right if they don't want to change side, because their way of driving is the most ancient.

What about in Roman times! Via Egnatia was a two way road! How did romans drive their horse cars?
