Ever since Christmas has been over, i have had this over powering urge to Clean..I have been cleaning out closets, and packing things to take to the goodwill, and redoing everything in the house..I was just thinking about this and I though "Hey it is not Spring yet" but here i go cleaning...Have you got the urge to clean ? Please tell me i am not crazy, I just want to get it done early i guess...have you ever had the urge to do something at the wrong time of the year?Share your comments!

Send some of that ummph my way. I have tons of projects that I need to do. I just don't have the ummph to get off my butt and do them. Spring cleaning in the winter is a good idea, its too cold to go out and do anything outside. I like to hybernate in the winter, its too bad that I can't though. Good luck with your cleaning.

Yeh taking the tree down might give you the "bug". My tree is still up, a little lopsided. The mamma cat has been teaching the baby cat how to climb up in the tree. My house is lived in, hehe. I am waiting to take the tree down until we do Christmas with my 2 grandsons. I like how your mom puts that "the underbrush". Its funny when I get on a roll, my son will ask if someone is coming over, hehe. Happy cleaning.

well you know Polly i don't have much of a tree, it is fake, a fiber optic thing, but its pretty i supposs..No company coming here so i just want it down..I use to go all out before when the kiddo's were small but not now. I never thought i would get to this point.Lol...I use to say to my mother lets do this and that and she said you do it ,im tired..haha..yes i miss my mother, she was a mess , she had all kinds of sayings..She would tell me"lets clean house" and this time we are going to get the underbrush haha..People tell me i talk country like my mother, and now my daughter is accused of that too..We need to have a discussion one day about the "old saying " that people used to use.i think that would be fun, don't you? anytime your ready haha.i have a ton of them

Good for you! When spring actually comes, you'll be able to relax a little! I could use some of your energy, too, but what really helps me is the sun shining. Today is a sunshiney day and I hit the ground running this morning and got laundry started, breakfast cooked (I actually COOKED something), plus I got some cleaning done before I ran out of steam. For me, doing all of that in a couple of hours might as well be spring cleaning! One thing that I like to have done in the winter is windows. When the sun is lower in the sky, like it is in the wintertime, it streams into the windows and shows all the smears and dirt. My husband is my window cleaner (you can't have him - he's mine and I'm keeping him) and always cleans the living room and dining room windows before Christmas. That almost feels like spring cleaning, too, getting a chore like that done and out of the way.

LOL Thanks for noticing the 52 cents. Indeed, I probably offer more opinions than I'm entitled to. Wish they were worth that much on myLot, though!

I do my cleaning a bit at a time. I do not like cleaning all day in Spring because then nothing else will be done. I am more inclined to clean in the winter because it is overcast, I get tired and I have to do something that will keep me awake. In the spring, I have better things to do like going for a walk, going shopping, visiting friends, writing, cooking, watching Tv..

When I want to clean, I clean! Don't feel like it often enough to schedule the darn thing. Mostly I clean because I HAVE to, so I'm sure not going to miss a chance to WANT to clean!

Hey you got to go for it while the urge is there, you don't want to miss it for goodness sake; you just never know when it will come back again. I had that urge a couple of weeks before Christmas and Lord knows I had to do something about it because those urges come far and few between. Yesterday and today I have been resisting the urge to take advantage of my newly cleaned house by redecorating it!

There's nothing wrong with that. Why wait till Spring to do the cleaning, when you can do it now, whilst the weather isn't so good, and be free to go out and spend some time in the spring sunshine, being at one with nature. I'm all for it... now, if I can only find your motivation, I might just join you!!! he he. Brightest Blessings.

No you are not crazy.I spring clean ,as they call it,whenever I feel like it.I cleaned out alot before Cristmas because I had alot of stuff I needed to get rid of.Then I found out that we cannot have a yard sale here.Dumb rule! And the only place that was coming next was the Lupus Foundation on December 15th.So,I got stuff ready for them but know I have more. They are coming back on the 15th of January,so I will spring clean some more.

Can't say I've ever experienced this but doesn't sound a bit crazy to me and if you run out of things to clean you are more than welcome to come to my house - sure I can find something for you to do :)

Well, I need to be doing such a thing but I just can't seem to find the time or the energy to get it done. I would like to get the entire house cleaned again soon. I usually do it when my husband travels out of town on business but he hasn't for a while so the house needs a good cleaning. Sometimes I think that it is best to do a deep cleaning in the winter time as it seems that the dust is a lot more then due to the furnace and stuff. I know that my husbands allergies seem to be getting worst since I have had to keep the house closed up so much and run the heat a lot more. Maybe if we all start our spring cleaning, the weather will take a hint and warm up.HAHA!!

cleaning is always good ,it is cathartic for our mental health so cleaning is a win win situation for both mental and physical health.

LoL no you're NOT crazy, I guess it's just that sometimes we have this cleaning fits and it comes at the least expected times. I am in a cleaning fit also and I've been over hauling the house and cleaning everything that I normally overlook. But my guess is that you will also have this cleaning fit when it reaches spring time also. Good luck on your cleaning and I hope you have fun.

Its never a wrong time to do so called spring cleaning. In fact I think there should be spring cleaning, summer cleaning, fall cleaning and winter cleaning. That way you don't have so much meaningless junk laying around. It makes your moods better when your house is kept clutter free.If I had the energy I would do it once for every season.

Actually I had wanted to start a discussion on spring cleaning until I saw yours. Whatever happened to spring cleaning? people don't do it anymore. At least not the young generations. I was telling my daughter in law about how we used to do it when I was young. Every closet was examined cleaned and organized. Walls were washed and furniture moved. There used to be ladies in the neighbourhood who would come and help for pay. I will call this particular lady Mrs. Morrow. Mrs. Morrow would be hired for a day or two. She would come and get me going until about 3 in the afternoon. Every bed would be moved, every closet emptied, floors washed and polished. I would have to supply lunch and she would be in charge. Now I am retired and cannot easily afford the Mrs. Morrows if they still exist. I have had someone help me from time to time after I broke my arm but I had to be in charge. This year I had an uninvited guest for about four weeks (a mouse who refused to be caught). So finally I was smarter than she/he and got rid of it but I realized this vermin had been in every closet in the house, bit a hole in my good jacket and one in my ski jacket, so I started to clean, moved the fridg and stove, cleaned out cupboards under the sink, emptied closets washed and disinfected the floor, stripped all the beds, took the duvets to the laundromat to wash in the big washers. I am still at it, I have to go slow since my arm still bothers me. I wish Mrs. Morrow was here but she passed away quite a few years ago. Bless her soul.

Yeah, actually I don't have this experience as I don't often do the cleaning,I remembered that was definitely winter and not because of the chinese NewYear(in china we celebrate the New Year)or any guest that will come to my house that inspired my mother cleaned the house just as we usually did in before our NewYear.. Every year before the New Year we have to prepare for the New Year as in china this NewYear is a big event for us all,so most of the time we prepare in winter and do the cleaning and buy a lot of new year items in winter.. There is still a week or so before the NewYear ,we are really busy to prepare for it..haha Molly;-)
