I have my first referral! Now what?

After being on here for over 10 months I finally have my first referral! The only problem is, the referral is my husband and I don't see him posting on mylot much, especially since I'm the one who uses our desktop computer the majority of the time (other than our kids, that is LOL). Well, maybe things will change once he gets the hang of things here. :P Do you have any family members that are mylot members? Did you refer them or did they refer you?

Most people who got referrals, the referrals usually don't do as much like you said... Not sure about mylot terms and conditions about 2 or more accounts from the same IP address....if that is allowed, you can set up two PCs for you and your husband to use Nope...I don't refer my family members...

I'm pretty sure it is allowed, so long as we have separate pay pal accounts. Though I better double check to be certain as I don't want to be breaking the rules! We do have 2 PCs, the only problem is, we have dial up and share the one line.

Now you just hope that he uses myLot quite a bit so that you will make some extra money and maybe he will get referrals that can help too. Maybe he will like it quite a bit after he gets used to it. It took me a while to get used to this site when I first started out. None of my referrals are on here anymore and gave up trying to get more people. None of my family members are on here and have no interest or time to use myLot.

I have 2 referrals for this site and they do nothing. Like someone said, your referrals don't usually do as much as we do. Also, be careful....I know some sites don't let you have referrals that use the same computer as you~it is considered cheating. I don't know the rules on that with this site, but have read it on some.

Don't worry sunshine. I looked it up and checked again after someone made a comment about it (just look at the first response I received). It is not against the rules, though MyLot will keep a closer eye on these two accounts since it's from the same ISP.

I sent my 18 y/o daughter an invite. She would be my only referral so far. Problem is I sent the invite about 4 days ago and she still hasn't even joined.

Hopefully she will join soon! :) I tried to refer a couple of friends of mine a few months after I signed up and got my first payment. However, they never bothered to join. It's too bad for them as they are missing out on all the fun! :)

-"After being on here for over 10 months I finally have my first referral!"- Grats to you Sacmom. -"The only problem is, the referral is my husband and I don't see him posting on mylot much, especially since I'm the one who uses our desktop computer the majority of the time (other than our kids, that is LOL)."- Get another desktop or laptop! Plenty of them can be found online and at some low price ranges (desktops $300-500, laptops $500-750; sites: newegg.com, tigerdirect.com). That or tell hubby to get on The Lot more often! -"Well, maybe things will change once he gets the hang of things here.:P"- Yeah, it takes awhile to just ease in sometimes, especially if you aren't use to it at all. You can at least encourage him a bit and convince him we're not all ogres or anything. -"Do you have any family members that are mylot members?"- Nope, none.

Thanks Pro! We do have a laptop as well, but neither of us use it much as we (meaning me LOL) prefer using the desktop and are on dial up. Unfortunately we can't get cable or DSL where we live (which is out in the sticks LOL), so we are basically stuck with using one computer. LOL at 'ogres'! He thinks mylot is pretty cool, though he's more into reading the things on here rather than posting discussions and replies. :P

I thought you can't have someone sign up with the same IP address. I could be wrong but if I were you I would maybe check with mylot to find out before he does do a lot of posting and then they cancel his account. I don't have any family members as referrals but I am a downline from my nephew. I have 5 referrals but I don't know them personally, they signed up from my blogg, but they don't work the site. One of them signed up 2 months ago and did 5 responses on the first day and then never came back. Another 3 signed up 2 months ago also and have never posted a thing. I tried to send them PM's but of course they don't answer them because they haven't been back. I then have one that signed up 1 month ago and posted one response and has never returned either. I don't know why people sign up and then never come back to see what the site is about or to work it. Why waste their time.

Don't worry Chris. I looked it up again after posting this discussion and saw that people that share the same ISP can have their own mylot account. But thank you for your concern. :)

Congrats on getting your first referral, at least you can keep the money in the family, hehe. I have 8 referrals and none of them do anything, oh well. I used to try to get referrals, not anymore. I did tell some of my family about mylot, they weren't interested. Their loss, personally I really like mylot whether they paid or not.

Thanks for your concern polachicago. I have read the guidelines for this and it IS allowed (look at my reply to the very first response and you'll see what I mean).

Since joining, my husband does go on Mylot, the only problem is, is that he would rather read peoples discussions and the responses they get, rather than join in on the fun. :P I certainly can't get "rich" this way. ;) LOL Hopefully this will change soon as I'd love him to become a regular member, though it certainly wouldn't be for the money! LOL Even though my husband isn't very active (other than the reading he does on here, that is) I'd rather him have his own account on here, than use mine. My account is just that...mine. I've seen some other mylotters do this and it gets rather confusing when people are sharing one account. It makes me wonder if I'm "talking" to the person that made the account, or to someone else. LOL

I think I have like 22 referrals and none of them post anymore. Some of them posted for a few days and then just never logged back on anymore. I don't have any family as my referrals though.

My husband just joined too, and i referred him. I dont see him lasting long either, but i may be wrong. I am guessing after he gets to about 4 or 500 posts, if he makes it that far, he will give up and stop coming on to mylot. It sure is hard to get referrals isn't it ??

My daughter is a member of myLot but when she joined I messed up and gave her the wrong link so she didn't show up as my referral. Oh well, she's not active so I'm not missing out on much. I have 12 referrals and only 3 have been active at all and then not very much.

I sure hope I don't lol and I wouldn't want to. Mylot is the one place I can talk freely so it would b very awkward if I had a family member here...particularly certain ones. I guess since your referral is your husband there's not much you need to do...other than encouraging him to post more. If it was someone you didn't know you'd probably want to make sure they were a friend, PM them with encouragement and advice and welcome them here...you can do that with your husband offline. Of course this is just what I would do, I'm still waiting for that first referral.

Hahaha! I hear you foxyfire! I too have certain family members that I would not ever refer here. This is my place to vent freely if needed (yes, about them) and I couldn't do that here if they were here, now could I? Though if they were to 'stumble' accidentally onto mylot on their own (with no help from me), they may not recognize me anyway, so I would still be in the clear! LOL

I have 12 referrals & none of them are family members. None of them are active now. It is VERY difficult to keep referrals active. Hope your husband enjoys My Lot.

Hello dear sacmom. It is good to know that you have your hubby as your referral. Well, I have already invited my niece as my referral, but as she is at college without having much chance to use computer, she is seldom seen mylotting. It is a nice thing to have some active referrals to help make easy earnings at mylot. Thanks for your discussion, my dear friend.

I have 2 refs and neither of them do anything :( I should get my boyfriend to sign up-- maybe he could post about cars or trucking or something. I wonder if I beg him, if he will try it. He is a talker, so he might like it.

well i am the referral of my partner.he send me this link and i became the member.most surprisingly since he is so busy in his work that he never gets time to be on mylot.i spend much time on mylot than him.but its good that he is earning as well form my earnings.i am happy for him.i think its only worth having referrals if your referrals participate in it otherwise its of no use.
