I enjoy watching the American Idol. I like to guess who is going to make it big and who is going to get the boot. I know there is a lot of "ego" involved in this show, but that is part of the fun.

I love this show! My favorite part is the auditions without a doubt. Like you said, it's so entertaining, and I find the first several episodes the most entertaining of all. Probably the funniest thing about the show (aside from Simon and his quirks) is the people who can't sing to save their lives! The saddest part is that their family and friends told them they could sing like an angel or whatever they told them to get them on the show. What a shame and waste of a good vacation! (LOL) I remember one guy in particular on the show who was trying out because his coworkers told him he should. Of course, the poor guy couldn't sing at all whatsoever, so he made a complete fool of himself. The most entertaining thing was that when he sang, he contorted his face in such a way that he looked like he was dying as the most horrible noise ever come out of his mouth. One of the great things about the show is that it has produced so many excellent singers and musicians. For instance, Carrie Underwood is one of my favorites. It makes you wonder how many other great and talented individuals are out there just waiting to be discovered. I have a younger sister who can sing like none other. I think she could definitely make it to the top ten without a doubt. (No, really! I'm not just saying that so I can see her make a fool of herself on TV!!) Anyway, great discussion. Can't wait until the new season starts this month! Thanks for getting my hopes up again and getting me in the mood for the show. Once we find out who's going for the Idol, we'll have to have another discussion about who we think will win.

I agree that the auditions can be a real hoot. If I was younger, I wouldn't mind auditioning. I would probably not take it too serious. I'm sure there is great talent around the country that never gets discovered because the auditions are not held in their part of the country.

Thanks for best response! Yes, I enjoy the show thoroughly and can't wait until the new season starts. Like I said before, we'll have to discuss the new season shortly. I'm very much looking forward to it. And I agree with you on there being more talent out there than can be recognized as auditions take place only in major cities. Those who want to participate have to travel for miles to get to one of those places if possible. Otherwise, they'll continue to wait until the audition miles grow. They've actually been doing better with auditions than they have in the past. I know you've been keeping up with it so I'm sure you've noticed how auditions have been taking a lot longer. They've actually had a lot more footage of it than in past years because of the turnout. As always, this year will be the biggest and best, causing the odds to be even greater for the individual who will finally be declared the American Idol. I can't wait! Thanks again for allowing me to participate in your discussion. I'm sure there will be more once another wonder season of the show begins. Talk to you then! :) And keep up the good work, my friend. :)

Hey ya I like watching American Idol. How some of them make it I don't know. Some of them sound like cats scratching the chalk board reek. I just want to put their head behind a curtain for them. Tell them to go get lessons or try something different please!
