The biggest question in your mind right now is probably, what will I do in 2008? My question is, do you have any goals that you plan on accomplishing this year? Do you think it will take longer than a year to accomplish your goals? If so, which goals will you accomplish this year and which goals will take longer than a year? Is there a specific goal that is near and dear to your heart? How do you plan to accomplish your goals? Last year, they were called resolutions; this year, they are called goals. Now that we are in the new year, it's time to get to work!

Oh Ok now, hmmmmm, I have so many goals I could be a super hockey player, hahaha....I think they have goals, don't they?, lol! My BIGGEST and most important goal is to remove myself from this basement, haha. I live in my sister's basement because last year I was laid off from my job, could not find a job anywhere that was paying any more than minimum wage. It was horrible!...I lost my little apartment because I couldn't afford to stay there, it's a very long story and I don't like to whine. All I can say is, it was one of the worst years I've ever had, and may I never have one like that again. Everything was wrong and everything went wrong, no matter how hard I tried, UGH! I appreciate extremely that my sister let me move here and I love her dearly for that, but, its dark and gloomy down here.....and she only has glass block for windows so I feel like I'm in a prison. I like lots of sunshine, and my own private space, with a patio preferably for flowers, haha. I mean, if I'm going to dream, why not all the way, hmmm?....then again, a cottage would be REALLY nice, haha.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! With friends like you and others here on Mylot sending me nothing but good vibes and wishes, how could I go wrong?....yes, I WILL find a place that will bring sunshine back into my life....I'm a woman on a mission, hahahaha! I have been working since the end of November now, so Christmas was simple but happy for me. I just need to catch up on being so far behind right now, it's been a long hard journey which took alot out of me, but I'll do it one way or the other. Thanks so much for all the encouragement!

Anytime, my friend! That's what we're all here for. And if I can offer you a bit more hope, it's usually a lot easier to find homes for sale in the summer, so you're only a few months away from having a huge market split wide open for you. I just noticed that you are from Ohio! I'm from Michigan and it's a buyer's market up here. Everyone is moving (and selling their homes as a result), so no one is buying! If I can help you in any way, please let me know. I'm going to send you a private message in regards to how exactly I may be able to help you with your 2008 goal. We can work on it together! I have "connections," I'll send you the info! Good luck!

You're free to dream whatever you want to dream and have whatever kind of goals you want! Personally, I think you have an excellent goal. Of course you're not trying to be rude or ungrateful toward your sister because she's provided a place for you to stay, but there's a point where your housing situation just isn't working. I wouldn't like to live in a glooming basement either. Basements just tend to be that way, don't they? It gets very depressing after a while...even finished basements. I admire you for your positive attitude considering your circumstances. I'm sorry to hear about your job, but I really appreciate your insight in everything you're going through. That really says a lot about your character! I will start hoping and praying for that cute, little cottage for you! I'm sure you can have whatever you put your mind to. There's one out there just waiting for you and a job, too...if you don't have one yet, of course. The year 2008 has to be GREAT because it rhymes! (LOL) I really and truly hope you reach your goal this year. :) (And that it's a must better year for you.)

Hi JJ. Goals, resolutions, hopes, wishes,,,,,,I just realized one of my biggest goals. While it's a personal goal, I believe I will be able to achieve positive results very soon. It's something that I've wrestled with, on and off, several times over the past few months, but this time, I think I've come to a dedicated conclusion that will end in astonishing results for me alone. The most important part of it is that I've learned what is valuable and what is not. What is not is being laid down, never to be picked up again. What is waste in my life has been recognized, named and soon to be cast back from whence it came. The action will soon be recognized by those who are watching. It all might sound ominous and mysterious, but, in the end, I will benefit greatly. An extension of a parable is this: A sower had a garden. In that garden were planted seeds. Weeds sprouted along with the fruit. The sower neatly and cautiously plucked the weeds from the garden, leaving only good fruit to flourish. Once the fruit was harvested, the sower left that garden to plant another garden elsewhere, leaving seeds of fruit for others to plant.

You said, "We truly are planting seeds in our lives, but the weeds will continue to grow no matter what we do. There will always be wrong in the world for as long as we live on this earth. What we do with the weeds is our choice". The weeds will continue to grow - that's true, in the future, as each weed begins to sprout, the gardener can determine, at His Will, when it needs to be plucked, to allow the fruit to continue to flourish. I invision a garden free of weeds. Even though every garden around my garden is overtaken by weeds, I can't allow them to grow in mine. The winds blow where they may and weeds are scattered everywhere. But - it's up to the gardener whether or not he allows a weed to grow. The weeds can eventually begin to choke the fruit until it can't grow anymore, or it can mingle with the fruit and make it bitter. By God's Grace and Mercy, and with His strength and continued help, my garden will always be ready for His knod of approval.

If only we all could implement this goal into our lives. How selfless the world would become! I understand your goal completely, and the example at the end pulled your entire response together beautifully. While many have said that they would like to do this or that, accomplish this, complete that during 2008, you've chosen to improve yourself. What better way to help others than to start with "number one." We truly are planting seeds in our lives, but the weeds will continue to grow no matter what we do. There will always be wrong in the world for as long as we live on this earth. What we do with the weeds is our choice. Thanks for another awesome response, my friend.

Beautiful! You also brought up an interesting point. If we neglect pulling those "weeds" in our lives, the good things in our lives will be harmed by the things that shouldn't be there. You're so right! What an excellent analogy. (I love using analogies to get my point across. I also use them sometimes just for my own reference to help put things in perspective.) I absolutely love your style. Reading your responses is like soaking in a wealth of wisdom. There is so much to be learned through your years of experience. I can't get enough of it, my friend!

Thank you very much for your welcome note. I have no definite plan for the entire year but I have definite plans for achieving each and every pending task and the most important one being earning money.

This is such a good goal for 2008. I believe we all share the common want to earn more money this year. If we all put our minds to the task, we can accomplish anything! The money is there. It's just a matter of finding the best method to get it. Thank you for sharing your excellent goal. I wish you the best in your endeavors this year!

As I am a old man I have no precise goal for the new year. My only goal is to get my best friends more closely and my best intension is that I always hear from my friends that they are well, fine and have no trouble.

There are a lot of people who need to read your response. I agree with you completely as well. If you don't set goals, you get nowhere in life. It's the truth. I enjoy setting goals and having that accomplished feeling when I reach the goal. I have some goals for this year also. Yes, they will be difficult, but that's the point. If it wasn't challenging, it wouldn't be called a goal. It would probably be called a chore or something like that. (LOL) I find the best way to complete my goals is to list them and the other things I would like to get done either on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. When I'm done with whatever it is on the list, I'll cross it off. At the end of the day, week, month, or even year, I can look back on all of the things I've gotten done. Perhaps that will help you accomplish your goals also. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas.

Financial goals are always wonderful to have. I'm sorry to hear about your fridge, but that's a part of life since there will always be things that'll come up you're not exactly expecting to have to dish out money for. I really like your positive attitude regardless of your circumstances, though! I think you have a great outlook on this new year and I really appreciate your response!

Those are both excellent goals, one of which I share. I want to buy a newer car if not a brand new car this year, which means I have to sell my two older cars. I'm downsizing - lol. Thanks for sharing. I really hope you can make a lot of money off your great ideas this year. I wish you the best in your endeavors.
