Gift Card Purchase

As most know my dad is very lazy. recently he broke a stand lamp by bending it towards the chair to turn it on so he wouldn't have to get up to do this. This caused the p[ole to snap at the base of the lamp. A new one cost him $60 as well. Well my son had given me a Walmart gift card as a christmas gift. I went the other night to buy me a new model car for my hobby enjoyment but they were sold out. So I walked around window shopping basically. Then I found this lamp on clearance. So I figured I'd buy it so dad doesn't break the $60 lamp any time soon. HAHAHA! It has a goosneck reading lamp that uses a 60 watt bulb, more than enough for his reading etc. The top part is a 3 way lamp. So with a 3 way bulb, and a 60 watt bulb plus the lamp it was a grand total of under $15. So he can break this one and I won't be upset over it. So that's all I wished to relate here. Now have you bought anything with your gift cards you recieved if you did get any that is? What did you buy huh? Share? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

$15 isn't bad at all. We got a bunch of gift cards this year. Everybody kept asking what we wanted for Christmas and we really didn't want or need anything so we just said gift cards so we can get what we want later on. I've used one of mine but I didn't use all the amount that was on there so I can still use it again when I go back. It was from Target. I just bought some things that were on sale from christmas and I bought some more diapers for my son.

I did not get gift cards, but my dad sent me a check. I will use it as part of a YMCA membership this spring. I am going to let that money nestle up with another few dollars and do something healthy all year long. On the other hand, I do really love the bargains in the clearance aisles. That is my favorite type of shopping. Keep up the posting, Happy New Year.

I went to Target for the 75% sale with my gift cards. This is a great way to get low cost wrapping paper, gift bags, gift tags, Christmas Gift Sets and storage containers. I buy at least 1 new storage container to store any new items that are purchased for the next season. This year my resolution is to get organized, so I bought one with separate compartments to find things easier. It cost a little more, but should save me a lot of time. This past year I wasted so much time hunting for items in my storage boxes for the holidays.

I don't think that I have ever gotten a gift card but I do think that they are a good idea. Especially if you are a Grandparent trying to figure out what to give a Grandchild. You used to give cheques but that involved a parent having to cash it. A gift card is just like cash only a little safer in the mail.

I have been totally selfish with my gift cards. I actually purchased everything for me with the exception of one item, which I bought for my daughter.

that sounds like a good buy! almost insurance against the new one breaking. The last thing that i bought with my gift cards that i was really pleased about was a dress. Okay so it doesn't sound too exciting. But somehow there is nothing quite like entering a shop, finding something that you like that is priced rather steeply even though you really like it, and then being able to buy it without spending a cent! most pleasurable.
