i added travel as one of my interests...

But i realized, while looking through all the posts, I guess I'm really not that interested in travel afterall...I like to go places...mainly the beach or camping...but other than that, i'm not into the whole far-off destination thing...something about dealing with airport hassles and everything like that sounds exhausting to me, not relaxing at all... I like little mini-vacations...visit someplace close to home I haven't been to before... maybe once the kids get older i'll feel differently...it would be nice if we were retired & could see some sites... anybody else have travel as an interest but not really a traveler?

I believe that I have it also, but I don't think you have to travel long distances to be a travel type of person. I am a introvert. Where ever home is, that is where I prefer to be. Is there a distance one must travel to be considered a traveler?

I do. I'm not even sure when or why I added it as an interest. Once in awhile I look over some of the discussions just to see what other people like to do but it just doesn't interest me much and I certainly don't have anything to respond with. I have young children so the thought of a trip somewhere just reminds me of the piles of stuff that would have to be packed up first, hours in a car or plane with antsy little ones bickering with each other...and everything else that would go along with that.

Going to the beach and camping is something I like to do too. I have to say that I am a very keen traveler having visited nearly 50 different countries. I have booked a flight to Latvia this summer. Airports are busy places but once I reach my destination I travel round my train or bus visiting at least four different places in two weeks. I travel with my young baby fine. We went to Portugal last year. I wish you happy traveling to nearby places to you will enjoy.
