What Do You Do When You Are Sick?

When I am sick and have to stay in bed the whole time, I take out my sketch pad and colored pencils and start sketching once I get bored. That I way, it seems that iI feel better. I think drawing or painting is some way where you can not just express your thoughts, but it's also the outlet to where you can release negative energies.

I still move, work and do something to make myself busy though I am staying at home. I do this everytime I am sick, because I feel like I would get more unwell if I just lay down and sleep even if I'm not sleepy. Watching tv, being here on the net are some of the outlets I do when feeling sick. Not to mention some of the household chores, like cooking food and sometimes setting up my room.

really? you are so tough! if i do it like that, my mom would scold me. in fact, she doesn't want me to sketch or even go online when sick.

No, I still refrain of what I'm doing if ever I know I can't handle it anymore.

If I'm so sick I have to stay in bed, pretty much I'm too sick to do much beyond sleep. I used to read, but soon I'd be asleep. I guess that started when I sprained my ankle so badly back in the early 1990's. I'd go flat & go to sleep - except when I wake up in the middle of the night - like right now!

no, just laying down flat didn't let me get back to sleep - tho I think I've got a sinus infection coming on. Over the holidays I get around people I don't normally see and I get over tired & that is, for me, a recipe for getting sick. Love, don't ever get old, its not for sissies. I was sitting waiting for my mom to get out of something yesterday & I heard one of the ladies saying that one of the helpers looked 40 - maybe 42. Now the helper is a very youthful looking lady, I'd've probably put her around my age, 50-something, but she is actually going to be 70 on her next birthday! Of course, compared to the lady I heard commenting on it, who's going to be 100, I guess 70 does look very young.

When I am sick, I stay in bed most of the time but I walk around a bit to keep me from getting bored and feeling so sick. Sometimes I still watch TV but in my room. I also drink a lot of water to help flush toxins from my body.

yeah, i think that's what they call "water therapy", and it really helps a lot when you drink lots of water.

I am a mother of great care towards my family. So I feel so sad when I am sick. I will pray to god to cure my sickness as early as possible. I will try to do some light duties as far as I can.

If I am really sick to the extent of not being able to do much that I want, I guess I'll just prefer to stay on bed and follow medication, even if it irritates me. The more I follow the medication, the sooner that I could do the usual things that I like to do, as I remind myself out of frustration... If am just not feeling well, I guess I could still do what you implied like drawing or just watching some anime series that would take my mind off of the condition that I am having.
