What sites do use to buy and sell online?

Do you use online auction sites or 'storefront portal' sites to buy or sell online? I am researching auction and 'storefront portal' sites which allow individuals to sell online with a view to publishing a guide. There are the big ones, of course, like eBay, half.com, Amazon and Craigslist and there are more specialised ones, such as Etsy (Art and crafts), Zazzle (artwork on clothing &c) and Deviantart (photography and artwork). If you know of others, it would be very useful to me if you could post the URL of the home page. Some of the things I would be interested in knowing are: What are your experiences in general of any that you have used, or thought of using, as a seller or as a buyer? Did you find the website user-friendly? Was help for new users good? Is it well categorized and easy to find what you wanted? Did you feel that your items (if you were selling) were well listed? Did you feel that there were plenty of customers for what you were selling? Did you find payment easy and secure? What methods of payment do they accept? Were you happy with the transactions? If you had to deal with returns, was the site helpful or not? Finally, if your comments would be helpful, may I quote them in my review? Thank you, fellow buyers and sellers!

I have never sold anything online but for buying I use ebay. I find it quite convenient and comprehensive.

eBay is a very good buyer's market. Many items are sold there at a fraction of their value. If you know your product and how to place it, it is a convenient place to sell, as well, but it is very dependent on the right people seeing your auction or 'Buy it Now'.

I just use ebay and am very happy. I buy there and I only have sold one item at ebay. ebay was always fast and the sellers polite and the goods were ok. I once got a coupon for Amazon and wanted to buy something and their computer would not accept the coupon number so I said forget it. I am happy with ebay. Happy mylotting!

Regarding your coupon for Amazon. It's possible that the item you selected was from a dealer who sells on Amazon. Amazon coupons are usually only valid for purchases from Amazon itself (and often in one country only). Survey sites often give Amazon coupons as prizes/compensation (I don't know if this was how you got your coupon). One way of getting the benefit of them is to buy something saleable with the coupon and then resell it, either through Amazon or eBay. It occurred to me that you might also sell the coupon on eBay. I don't know how legal that would be, though!

I've bought online from Ebay and Etsy and was very pleased with the transactions. My online transactions at both websites were easy, secure and the products were delivered in a timely matter.

I haven't sold anything yet so I can't say which site is better from a sellers perspective. For buying stuff I mostly rely on Amazon.com and Flipcart.com.However I am afraid the services of flipcart.com is limited to Indian citizens.I don't need to mention the quality of services of amazon.com its brand name speaks for itself.
