Blogs that you keep, blogs that you leave

During the last few years, I've started and abandoned a few blogs on Blogger.com. Even with the ones I've kept, I find that posting to them is becoming a chore. This is so funny because I've started all of those blogs with a lot of enthusiasm, not even wanting to know that some of them would not work out. So far, I've kept about four blogs, the most recent blog about the tarot, "tarot tells" and another on "clutterology." What blogs have you kept? Have you abandoned any blogs?

I do that a bit. I still do the have the first blog I started. I don't post there as much as I did in the beginning, but I still have my hand in it. I have a new blog that I started, but it more like a wiki only not quite as friendly.

I used to have two blogs at a now defunct site - writingup.com - one that was political and one about allergies. But, the site was always going up and down and eventually it went down and stayed down. Currently, I have a blog called Ginger's Health Corner on communati.com. Sometimes I do not feel like posting; but, I do it anyway for 2 reasons: 1) Discipline: if you want to be a writer you have write whether you are in the "mood" or not. 2) I have people out there counting on me. I have regular readers who are reading my posts. I write about topics that they have asked me to write about and clear up for them. I completed an entire series of posts about artificial and natural sweeteners. I am now working on a series about menopause and menopause remedies. I frequently get responses thanking me for the information in some of the posts. So, I have people out there that I do not want to "let down" by not posting to my blog. If you are interested; you can find the link on my profile page.

I haven't abandoned my (only) blog, but I really haven't posted anything for a long time, and I am feeling very guilty about this. I have to say that I am taking to heart an earlier comment to this discussion in which somebody pointed out that writing requires discipline. I need more of that. By the way, I'd love to see your blog on clutterology! Cool concept.

My blog is about my home business. So far I have kept them all there. Some have been picked up by ezines for use in marketing. I also have a voiceblog I do...sometimes it is about my business, sometimes it is about life and New Years Eve, it was about not drinking & driving. I have also signed up to do a blog radio show, I am getting things in order to host 2 different ones. One for military families to call in and talk and the other will be business related. All of these are free for people to use and quite a bit of fun.

I've done this as well. I've started blogs and that stopped using them. Usually, I just delete them if I know I am not going to bother with them anymore. Sometimes it's hard between work and other things to get motivated to write a blog. I like to collect baseball cards and the blog I started on that hasn't gotten too much. However, my poker blog is what I write about often and I am getting a decent following, which makes want to write on it more.

I have two blogs that I keep going - one is on scrapbooking and can be found at www.scrappinsistersaz.com and other is personal stuff, such as, our Girl Scout Troop information (keeping those parents up-to-date), videos I've stumbled across or books that I want to share, it just varies. I have an abadoned blog out there somewhere on blogger. I just didn't have time for it.
