Shoes - How much do they matter in our life?

I am pretty tall and had never experimented with high heals. But most of my friends were fashionable young ladies who went after what was the new and hot-selling in the market. Many of them complain of sprained ankles now. This sets me thinking. Howmuch do we have to think of shoes - to the extent of having them as a confortable protective cover for feet, or of converting them to a fashion statement, neglecting, er...our health at times?

comfortable is the most important! when u go outside, have to pay attention to your feet. that is a part of your body. most people will choose comfortable shoes for them. but not choose fashion shoes like young women..high heel shoes, that is not benefit to our body..especially for your feet. i love my comfortable shoes.

You are right about the use and misuse of shoes. Many of the young ladies use fashionable but uncomfortable high heel shoes that are detrimental to health. I just wish some sense dawns on them before they make a complete mess of their feet!

Long ago in schools, I learnt from a story that "A person can be judged well by his shoes. A person wearing a neat, good pair of shoes is a gentleman while a wicked person wears a poor, torn pair of shoes." This line impacted my mind in such a way that I developed a craze for good shoes. Technically speaking, the statement is just a saying from a story, but it indeed helped me develop good apetite for good shoes. Yes, shoes are a part of my life that I can not ignore.

I think it depends on when and where you wear the shoes. We dress suitably considering different situation. I usually choose a pair of confatable travel shoes when I decide to climb mountains, and select fashionable or hot-selling shoes when I join a indoor party with my friends. In modern society, people change their appearance to adapt and build interpersonal relationship. Shoes include as well...

I think that as long as a shoe fits, supports your foot, and is comfortable - it's good. Fashion in this case doesn't matter unless you want to be trendy (and even then the above should be at the fore). True, for some events it's nice to have a good looking pair of shoes. Who wants to show up at a full formal wedding in flipflops?

Personally, I wear shoes that are comfortable. I don't care what the fashion is! I know so many women that have messed up feet from wearing high heels to work, I refused to mess up my feet.

The feet is one of the most important body parts and we should never neglect it. We should be able to give it the best shoes that we could afford and it should be something that will make us feel comfortable and safe. For me wearing high heals is not really safe and my feet would feel very sore after using it.
