A Botanical Garden? I haven't, but I would sure love to. I would love to get married at the most beautiful Botanical Garden in the world. I recently put a picture of one on my desktop and every time I turn on my computer, I have to pause to admire it beauty. I know that a lot of them are not open to the public and are for research purposes. But, what I would not give to be surrounded by such loveliness. I know that it can not compare to the Garden of Eden, that God created. But, it has got to be the closest thing that I have ever seen.

Your older brother got married at one. Oh cool. How was it, did you take pictures? Do you have any of them? I would just love to see them. I knew that New Zealand was nice. Are the ones there nicer than the one in the picture? Why did you leave New Zealand again?

I think the one in the picture looks a lot better haha, its beautiful. I don't have any pictures here with me but I'll see if I can find the site online. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellington_Botanic_Garden or try this http://www.wellington.govt.nz/services/gardens/botanicgardens/botanicgardens.html I can't see many pictures but you might need to look around a bit to find them. I remember a rose garden where he got married, there's also an old cemetry at the top of the hill and just lots of different native NZ plants and trees, flora and fauna and sorts - botanical gardens are beautiful!

Those are very nice also. I really like the one with the spring tullips. I want to learn more about Botanical Gardens. I have seen so many different ones on the internet, that I have a lot of questions. I am serious about getting married at one. I like the idea of roses too. That would be perfect for me.

The hollow tree - At Aburi Botanical Garden, Ghana,Africa
I've been to two - one in India and one in Ghana, Africa. I don't recollect very well my visit to the one in India. But I do remember my trip to Ghana (which was in 2001). I loved the place and here is a picture of the hollow tree at the botanical Garden at Ghana.

You must! I always thought of forests when I thought of Africa...but the place I visited (Ghana) was just like Kerala (that's where I am from) and I enjoyed my stay there.

I have been to a few. There is a well known one in Midland Michigan, called Dow Gardens and is supported by the Dow Chemical co. If you can find one in your area, make the trip. They offer a relaxing atmosphere.

Butchart Gardens on Vancouver island - Butchart Gardens, Vancouver Island taken in the 1980s.
Oh those are inside ones, but there are two outside ones, Butchart Gardens near Victoria, B.C on Vancouver lsland and one in Vancouver called Little Mountain. Both are in Canada. I used to go to Little Mountain when I was young because my father always had to go to the local hospital and I took outdoor painting classes.

I have been to one in Paris, France. That was nice, but I believe the Huntington Gardens here in California is my favorite. They also have first editions of books there as well. Shakespeare even. There is also a small Botanical Garden near my home that I can walk to that is quite nice.

I think Huntington Park is a suburb of LA, and Huntington Gardens is a botanical garden in Pasadena which is a nicer suburb in LA.

As I was reading your response, my roommate was looking over my shoulder. She says that the one in Huntington Gardens is indeed very beautiful. When you mentioned Paris France, I thought surely they would have the best. I have heard of Huntington Park, but not Huntington Gardens. Are the two related in each other? Is it the same area?

The beauty of nature and it's wonders, it's sometimes leave us in awe. I like the way you admire nature, it's peacefulness and the sense of being free. I have been to a botanical garden ones, but that's during my grade school days -as a part of our excursion. I like the way they put the garden, the sweet smell of flowers blooming and the natural beauty of butterflies flying around it!;) I hope that your dream would come true, be one with nature..

I have been to the one up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I have been to the one in Vancouver British Columbia. I have not been to any in the States though. It is so beautiful seeing all those flowers. The one in Edmonton has it set out in different climates, there is one for the desert area, one for the southern, center, and northren Mediterranean areas. There is on for the arctic, one for the south, one for the modern climates --well there are more, but you get the idea. They cost a bit of money to go in them now that the Canadian government has figured that we have lots of money. But there is a discount rate for families and those over fifty-five or is it sixty.

Oh yes. In Oklahoma City, the city right next door to me, they have the Myriad Botanical Gardens down town. I've been there several times, a number of those times as a high school field trip. It is truly beautiful, but it does get quite warm! I know it's to keep the plants at their optimum health though.

It is strange that I had never even heard of a Botanical Garden until about a couple of years ago. I thought that they were something new. I long to visit one now.

You're right! the gardens on earth are but a small glimpse of what the Garden of Eden must have been like. The most beautiful earthly gardens I have been to include Regents Park in London - the amount of blooms arranged so beautifully in different sections of the garden are really amazing. And the keukenhof gardens in holland which i visisted in spring had an amazing variety of landscapes of tulips.

Yes, heaven is a wonderful place. I can tell from the little glimpses we get here on earth. What a marvelous place it must be. Now, you say London, right? I would imagine everything to be nice in London. I have not traveled much at all, but I would like to some day.

I have been to a botanical garden once. I took my son to the one in St. Louis while we were living there. It was beautiful. My son really liked it there too, and he wants to go back sometime. He said next time we have to take grandma cause she would really like it.

Yup, I've been to a couple and yes I'd say their awesome. Especially when you visit one and a wedding is taking place. One of the most romantic sights you'll ever see. Garden weddings are pretty much famous here in the Philippines so couples often rent Gardens in Tagaytay (its one cool place here in the country where they have numerous garden resorts). And I've also attended one Garden wedding, the bride was my cousin, and it was pretty neat! It was around 5 in the afternoon and they were exchanging vows as the sun was setting... Paradise, feels like paradise... Just too perfect for a wedding...

I really enjoy visiting botanical gardens. The nicest that I have ever been to is the one in Sydney, Australia. It has a lovely setting by the gorgeous looking harbor. the plants and flowers there are so pretty. I felt very relaxing strolling around it and sitting on a bench enjoying the peace. At dusk parrots flew from tree to tree and I found this quite charming. Getting married in such a beautiful and tranquil place would be a lovely thing to do. I took a day trip to a subtropical garden last summer and had a delightful time walking around seeing all the pretty palm liked plants. There was a stunning view of the the coastline too. It was a very enjoyable day. I hope that you will go to a botanical garden soon.
