This is one great movie. It might be a little corny, but my daughter absolutely loves it. It makes you want to get up off your butt and dance around the room. Which, btw, is what my daughter is doing right this moment. Its so cute!
And I have to say that Queen Latifah is great in this movie. She is so proud to be a bigger woman. Large and proud of it. That is something I was not when I was bigger. She is also one of the only music artists who has crossed over to movies and does a good job at it. Think of all the music stars who have tried to be in movies and it flopped.
The first time I watched this movie, it took me quite awhile to realize that Amber's mom was Michelle Pfiefer. However, you spell it. I really enjoyed this movie. We watch it a lot as you can probably tell from this discussion. At least 5 times a week probably.

I have not watched it yet. I know there is no way my husband would watch. It does look like it could be really corny but I still would like to watch it.

Ive never seen the old version of the movie, and Ive only seen a few minutes of the newer version. However I must say I LOVED the play. I saw it quite a few months ago on Broadway and it was FANTASTIC. You described it perfectly, it just makes you want to get up and and dance, and it definately makes you feel good about yourself afterwards.

I wish I could see it on Broadway. I have seen both the old and the new. The new one isn't really anything like the old one. They don't really break out in song and dance in the school hallway in the older one.

ha ha ha ha , i think your daughter learn a dance with an old woman queen latifah, actually i really like this movie i cannot explain if how many times i watch this movie even i download to my pc.... i love when they are dancing & singing.

hairspray is indeed an awesome movie! It's one of my favourites too. Love to watch it; it makes me wanna sing along and dance! Plus zac efron was so cute in it- totally smitten! Lol.
