How often do you read a newspaper? Where do you get your news from?

I seldom read a newspaper! - newspaper

I seldom read a newspaper because the news in my city is usually very depressing and scary to me. It's always someone shot someone or some kid died in a shoot out, car accident or from a drug overdose. Who needs to read about that right? Once in awhile I'll check out the news online and I usually look for the less violent stuff. Lately of course I've been checking out the political scene but that's only because of the elections and I want to see what's going on but politics is not a usual thing for me. Other times I'll look to see what's going on in Science because of all the interesting things that happen in space. Are you a newspaper reader or do you get your news elsewhere? Do you ever read newspapers from other states or cities?

I too seldom read the newspaper - mainly just if I'm looking for something in particular such as a job or item to purchase. Most of my news comes from the internet, lately Yahoo News catches my attention with the headlines at least. I avoid TV news and most news of all kinds because it's all so negative - you rarely hear the good stuff.

Yes and it's so convienent because I use yahoo mail as my main mail account now so it's always there - plus I've noticed they have the news a lot faster than our local newspaper which always seems to be a few days, weeks, or months behind.

I read the newspaper every day. I get two papers I get my towns local paper and I get a paper a froma bigger city that is about 30 miles from me it gives a lot more news. I love reading things like the baby names and seeing the pictures of the kids playing baseball and doing dance recitals etc. There is alot of sad news in them to though sometimes just reading the local paper can make you cry!

I rarely read the newspapers but I do watch many different news programs such as CNN and other news stations where I live plus programs like Dateline, 2020 and WFive. I am more likely to watch a news program then a regular tv show. I do agree with you on the fact that the news is too negative and I really do think they should always end there programing with 10 - 15 min of uplifting stories! I have seen people get so depessed from watching the news that they have no choice but to stop watching it to help them selves get out of the depressed funk. When you see so much negative on the news it is easy to fall into a slump. I always thought it didn't affect me that way but I realized this past year it does and I to need to take it in small doses. I truly think all daily news shows have a responsibility now a days to lift up there audience with positive and encouraging news stories.

Sometimes if there is nothing on tv to watch I'll check into CNN because it's always so much more interesting than the regular news.

We get the Sunday paper and that's it. I like to watch the news on TV every day so that I get the lastest right then and there instead of waiting for the paper the next day. I want to know where the danger zones are so I can stay the heck away from them. So the Sunday paper is all we get and hopefully it has coupons!! LOL

I read online newspapers every day. I'm just too lazy to buy them in the shop. But most often I skip the political part, and just read the fun part of them, sports, culture, science, entertainment. I think it is important to read them, or at least check them, cause many times there are important news which are useful to me sometimes.

I used to always subscribe to our local newspaper, ctry, but gave it up completely once I got on the internet. Besides, someone would always steal my Sunday paper if I wasn't out of bed early enough to get it myself. All across the country newspapers are going out of business due to widespread use of the internet. I do miss reading the paper at my leisure, however. I would just skim over all the bad stuff. It is very depressing.

I do believe that before the internet I would sit at the table with my coffee and skim through a newspaper! That was so long ago. I can see how newspapers would be going out of business now.

normally i don't read the newspaper in my country just because all major newspaper is controlled by a political party or something like to that so news that journalist gives is just to support their party and not the fact!!so if you read a newspaper from a side or another pfacts and purposes about it change dramatically in some cases for a newspaper there is a news and for another there is the contrary of that news and all seem much more gotesque than information in itself!!

I read at least two newspapers every day, not cover to cover, but the main stories in them. I read them all online, since I can search for specific stories and also use the links to the keywords that some newspapers provide. That allows me to read the topic further. I also get my news from a few independent sites as well as some blogs.

I watch the evening news -- mainly for the weather updates. I get my newspaper online in print edition to save trees. I subscribe to that at $5 a month which is 3/4 the cost of having it delivered each day and I'm not killing any trees by having it printed then thrown out when I get done. I just X out of the browser window.

I seldom read newspapers, most of the times I get news from watching them on tv and on the net as well. Some tv news are poorly-reported, sometimes they sensationalize such and so it's either I turn the tv off or switch to other programs. My father is the one who uses the newspapers, since he's working abroad, we don't buy them. I am only interested on feel-good news, informative types and sports. So I just look for them here on the net, where I can also see other's opinions when discussed on forums..

Hi my friend, I read it everyday. I have a subscription through which, it is delivered to my home. Mostly I read sports, culture and politics related topics. Not very much into local news. The newspaper i read it is international-oriented. There are local news but concentration is more on worldwide stuff. Thanx

I read our local newspaper every day. We have a older couple that lives next to us and when they finish their paper they leave it on our back porch for us to read too. We live in a small town, so its a small paper.

I read the newspaper backwards. My parents always had the first two sections. I'm always looking for a job and I like the funnies the best. After seeing that there really is work in the world and funny commentaries about life, I can take the rest of the paper so much better. Try it, backwards is better. I also watch the TV News and listen to news on the radio in my car.
