MyLot question time again -- Topic: Best Response

Ok, you all know me (or are getting to know me) and you know I am full it! Full of observations, curiosity, and questions. I have a lot of knowledge to share to, but not about this MyLot site yet! So please bare with me as I continue to pick your brains. (-;
I notice when I go back to a discussion I started to read the responses, that next to the respondent's name it says "mark best response". Such as mine on someone else's discussion looks like this:
ltmoon (116) mylot.com - level 14 - mark best response
What is the "Best Response" all about???
Is this important?
Do I need to pick a Best Response on my discussions?
What does picking a Best Response do?
- for the discussion?
- for the respondent?
- or how about for ME???
What happens if I pick a Best Response and then receive an even BETTER Response? Can I change my Best Response to the new BETTER Response?
Please, give me all your Best Responses to this Best Response question!!!

If you feel that you have found a response that explains or answers most of the questions in your topic, then you can choose one as best response. Best response is also a nice way to give reward to responders, a gesture of showing your gratitude for the members who's given their time in answering and providing informations to the subject at hand.
You only get to choose once and they'll be forever, so better choose when you feel that you're discussion has been resolved. I know it also adds some earnings, but this depends and only the admin knows who receives bonuses.

This is a good discussion because the first reply contains a helpful link that some of the newbies probably haven't had a chance to find and read. I know that I was pretty confused when I joined here and did not realize that in addition to "the" guidelines there were other helpful pages myLot staff had hidden here and there.
After we have been active here a while it is even more important to go back and read the staff's helpful tips, I think, because then we will understand it all a bit better having some experience here. Welcome to myLot and I hope you are meeting nice people and having fun.

Hi Drannhh, thanks for the welcome and also for adding your thoughts on this topic.
I checked the above mentioned link and find it to be off the mark, it takes you to an FAQ on the + & - rating system. However I have posted a correct link to mylot's FAQ on "Best Response".

Hi and welcome. Mylot wants us to choose a best response for our discussions. I have noticed that when people choose us for a best response, our earnings tend to be a couple cents more for each one we get. I have chosen a best response for my discussions and later seen a better one but it is too late to change it. I think it just helps other members to earn a few cents more and us also when we get chosen.

Ok...here goes...
Best Response is the person you think gave the best response to your discussion. Yes, it's important b/c it let's ppl know that you appreciate the work they put into writing such a good response. It's like getting a gold star in school for doing the best work. Not that everyone's isn't good but there is usually one that stands out. No you can't change it once it's given so it's best to wait till you have 2-3 pages of responses before picking one. Getting best response can boost your rating and it resolves your topics although more ppl can post to it if they want to. You might try looking through MyLot guidelines and seeing what they have to say on it.

Honestly ,I don't know quite much about how the mylot system really works .These are just what I know .
The best response is u give the honor to the person whose response fit to ur subject well,then u give reward to him or her ,after u doing this, this person's earnings will correspondingly raise higher than his/her response to one discussion.every time when u give the person who is the best response u will never change it no matter how well the later response is.as for the level actually I also do not know what is about this ranking.

Hi Itmoon,
When you are posting a question, you are sure of getting a response.It is necessary to find out who has given you the best response, by which you get satisfied. That response has to be marked best response. Visa verse, the person responded to your question will also be eager to know whether his response has received any recognition or provided required information to the posted person. When you mark the best response both of you will feel happy and satisfied.
