almost ready to wean him!

Well my son will be two at the end of march and I said when I had him that I would stop nursing when he was two. He nurses before bedtime and usually once or twice in the middle of the night. He is so attached and to tell you the truth so am I. I've tried putting him to bed without nursing and if he doesn't cry is head off, he goes to sleep only to wake up soon after. I know he doesn't need to breastfeed because he eats regular food, but my theory is why not give him two years of the best possible thing for him. Plus there is nothing wrong with a little extra bonding. At least that is my opinion. Anyway! I would like to know if anybody has had this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
