Unusual names?

Do you have an unusual name or have named your children something unique, if you have is there meaning behind it or was it something you just heard and liked? If you have an unusual name do you like it? or would you prefer something more "normal"? My name is Melody and most people think it is something to do with the fact i grew up in a musical family... which would be a fair assumption, however, the reason behind my name is that my Dad was a massive Captain Scarlet fan, he had 5 assistants in the form of The Angels, named Melody, Symphony, Harmony, Destiny and Rhapsody. His dream was to have five girls and name them each one of The Angels, he got his way with me but not my other 3 sisters, lol

My sisters name is Jana(pronounced John-a) As you may imagine it gets mispronounced often. I have a sister in law named Angel. I have a close friend. He had a co-worker whose first name is Norbert. But the celebrities have us all beat. Just wait a couple decades and ask Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette, as in the daughter of magician Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller.ason Lee of "My Name is Earl" and his fianc?, Beth Riesgraf, named their son Pilot Inspektor. Reports have it that the child's name was inspired by the Grandaddy song, "He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot.Banjo? Audio Science? A musical instrument and a course in electronics, you might say. Well, yes, but those are also real baby names, selected by actresses Rachel Griffiths and Shannyn Sossamon, respectively.I could go on and on but I think the point is made. lol

I do think some of the celebs "trends" with unusual baby names are verging on the ridiculous, do they even spare a thought for the poor children when they grow up. i have known some unusual names that are beautiful not tacky like some of the celebs do!!

My little sister has an unusual middle name. Her middle name is her father and my moms name togehter. Which is Frederick and Shanay together. Her middle name is fre'shanay. I think that it very very unique. There is no other name like it.

I've heard rumors and read urban legends about people naming their children after the town they were conceived in, signs nearby or objects. Personally, I can't imagine why anyone would name their child Nosmo King (Last name). Think about it -- that kid is going to have that name for the rest of their life. Would you want to have a name like La'Joliet De'Chicago Smith? Give a kid a name that is normal. Otherwise expect them to get beaten up daily at school.
