Have You Tried Doing Surverys @ OTX ??? I am quite upset with this survey site! I was linked to OTX about a year ago through my affiliation with MyPoints (which by the way is a great rewards site). I get several requests per month from OTX to come take a survey. They promise some substantial bucks (5-50 per survey) but they never pay out!!! I think they are a scam outfit taking advantage of members time and stealing the information you provide. I have never been paid for participating in any of their surveys. Their surveys are quite lengthy and time consuming, and after filling out page after page of information and personal answers about a topic. Then OTX asks for your zip-code and then they tell you that your area is not part of their demographics! After spending 5-15 minutes filling out the survey they take all your info and run off! Sometimes they "offer" you the chance to take a different survey, but again they pull the zip-code thing and steal the info without paying you for it!!! Anyone else tried OTX? What do you think of them?

These things are mostly rip offs. I have not tried the one you listed, but I have read the info on a bunch of them since I am house bound a lot I thought it might be a way to make money. I talked to a lot of people too. The ones that require that you download a toolbar can crash your computer in a heart beat so watch out for those too. I have re formatted a lot of my neighbors computers after they tried those. I wouldn't trust any of them actually.

Adoniah, I am pretty leary of most any download these days, especially toolbars. I have TrendMicro and it does a good job of keeping the gremlins out of my systems.

I won't use Norton again! I was never a big fan of theirs, I preferred McAfee for a long time and installed it on a lot corporate networks. I needed an upgrade two years ago and where I live I have only one choice - Staples - for software locally and a Norton Security suite was available with a full rebate, so I bought it...big mistake! For starters, you couldn't do the rebate online with Staples you had to send a bunch of crap to Norton's rebate center...long story short - Norton never sent the rebate! It gets worse when the Norton apps don't work together, keep crashing my system, and I still was not getting good security and got a little pain in the a$$ virus/spyware that was more annoying than destructive, but I sure as heck didn't want it on my system! I tried several "online" sweepers - MicroSoft, McAfee, etc - and Trend Mirco was the one that eventually ZAPPED the sucker! Even though I was only a few months into a two year license on the Norton I scraped it off and switched to Trend Micro's full suite. It has its own little quirks, but it has been very very very GOOD about busting the nasties! I recommend it now over the other apps available.

I'm with mypoints and have been for awhile. Love that site. As far as OTX I don't like it. I agree with everything you just said. I still get surveys from them, but I just ignore them. Takes to much time and asks the same questions over and over.

Hello I've actually written a report on paid surveys and listed 350 sites with various grades. I sell it for $7 (but you can access it for free in the private members area of my site at www.profitsentinel.net/downlinebuilder Here is the truth about paid survey sites in a nutshell. Yes you can earn some money by completing Paid Surveys, depending upon your demographic. Paid survey sites conduct surveys for people looking to sell products to various markets. If you're on a Single Income with a Couple of Kids (SICK - my acronym made for me by me) nobody wants to know you - why because you have no disposable income. On the other hand if you have lots of disposable income, lead a particular lifestyle or work in a particular profession your opinion is highly sort. One of the best ways to earn money from Paid Survey Sites is to refer others to them. I have found that a Paid Survey Site like Survey Savvy will pay you for the surveys that your referrals and their referrals make. Refer 10 people who refer ten people and you are likely to earn a passive income from their site. You can access survey savvy by going to www.profitsentinel.net/downlinebuilder/programs.php Be sure to check out Pure Profile as well from the same site. As for OTX I am not a direct member, but fine that often when I do do a survey I find that it is being conducted on behalf of OTX. They do pay - depends on your demographic. If you're really interested in Paid Surveys I suggest that you get the free report available in my member's area listed above Cheers Mark

I have never done surveys at OTX, in fact I have never heard of it. I do surveys for a few places but I think the best one is AWSurveys. They pay $6.00 for your first survey and also $1.25 for everyone you refer that signs up. Their surveys only take a few minutes. Not like some sites who take up to 45 minutes and then put you in a draw to win something that, of course you never win. Another survey site I like is Emailcash. They also pay but not as well as AWSurveys. Hope this helped you. http://www/AWSurveys.com/HomeMain.cfm?refID=bhappy2 http://www.emailcash.com.au/join.asp?refer=M44698

Thanks Bhappy for reading and responding! Maybe someone else reading this will find your links helpful. Right now I'm kind of fed up with the whole survey thing. Maybe I'll come back to this thread in a few weeks and try some of the survey site suggestions you and other have posted. Thanks again!!!

I'm not a member of OTX directly but have to admit most survey sites are tough to get paid from. The only site that stands out if lightspeed surveys, 2 months I've earned about 20 bucks and they pay relatively fast (paypal) Most of the rest are a waste of time it seems like.

I have only participated on a couple survey sites, this OTX being one, I'm not looking for any others, at least not right at this time. I passed on most of them because I didn't think it was a good exchange - my time for their points or a dollar here and there and you have to accumulate 20 or 50 dollars to cash out. From some of the responses I see here, I think I was getting a different set of surveys from OTX than some folks here because the bait was $5.00 and up per survey, some where supposed to pay $50!

Jbelle, I am glad to hear that some of you have had better results with the surveys. Thanks for the tip, but I'm not currently in the market for any more survey sites. Maybe I'll change my mind in a few weeks after I get the bad taste of OTX out of my mouth! (-; Thank you for adding to the conversation!

(Laughs) Itmoon, you are not alone. I, too, got into several surveys, several months ago, only to find that after reaching a certian amount of dollars, they would continually inform me that I do not qualify to take this or that survey (and often, after I have answered most of their questions)! I finally abandoned and ignored them, though some still attempt to contact me by either email or regular mail. I do not think that they intended to payout the participants.

I have had the same problem. I also access OTX through MyPoints. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only person this happening to. Guess we should contact MyPoints about this.

One disappointing aspect of MyPoints is that they are not very responsive when you contact them about any of the sites/offers/etc that they connect you with. About five years ago I had a huge problem related to one of their co-offers with a merchant and they said they would not help. After several weeks of correspondence I eventually got them to at least credit me with the points that the offer promised. I had to take other action against the merchant and they lost and eventually paid off.

I have used OTX. Through my Cashcrate site. So I guess I have been paid by them because of Cashcrate. They do have some long surveys. I don't really think that as a site they are that great. Never used them independently of Cashcrate. Now I guess I am glad. There are others that pay, sorry that you may have wasted your time.
