Turtlenecks are they for turtles?

I have a very difficult time wearing them. For some reason they seem to squeeze my neck or put pressure on the back of my neck and I get headaches from them. Do you like turtleneck tops or do you have the same problem as I do with them?

I totally agree with you. If the turtleneck is real tight, it squeezes the back of my neck. Even though I have short hair, sometimes my hair gets caught in the top and when I turn my head my top turns also. It's funny but happens very often. I only wear one if it's extremely cold and know I'll be in the cold outside for an extended period of time. Once in awhile I'll wear one to work since I am working by a door which opens constantly and I can feel the wind and cold coming through the door. Am a cashier one evening a week and in the winter, it's cold near this area. I do like the way they look on everyone else but myself. They are good also for hiding the wrinkles on the neck. Someone once told me you can tell a person's age by the wrinkles on their neck similiar to an old tree...lol

I am not bothered by turtle necks like you, I can't imagine! I'm sorry that happens to you. I actually wear turtle necks sometimes, but not often. I don't think I even own any right now. But I do like shirts with really cool, nice collars (hard to explain what I mean)

I love the look of turtleneck shirts and sweaters but they always bother my throat. I don't get headaches but they're irritating and feel a little like I'm being choked.

I can't stand turtlenecks. They are way too tight for me, too constricting and I don't like tight things around my neck. I don't like chocker necklaces for that very same reason. If I happened to wear a turtleneck when I was younger, I always spent my time tugging on the shirt and the neck part of the shirt because I didn't like the way it was hugging my neck and that was my futile attempt to make it more comfortable.

I don't like the chokers either and see them on some of the younger gals and it almost gives me the willies! Nothing tight around this neck either!

I HATE turtlenecks. Hate them, hate them, hate them. Even mock turtlenecks. Quite honestly, I don't like anything around my neck. On a good day I'll wear a necklace, but once I had a necklace I could not get off. I just ripped it off my neck, that is how much I can't stand it. So I tried for years to get my mom to NOT buy me turtlenecks as a kid. But she loved to put me in jumpers so much, and turtlenecks went with jumpers so well... You can imagine my horror. I'll freeze before I feel the suffocation of a turtleneck. LOL, I told you I hated them. : )

hi jill! ^__^ i don't encounter same problems like you do because before i buy a dress, i try them on and see if it fits me and goes around my neck easily. i wear turtle tops once in a while but they are usually house dresses and not for going out. ^__^
