When I make green tea, I use a four cup tea cup so I put in three bags and seep for two to three minutes. I used to use just two cups, but it was not just right. I also read in the directions to use a bag a cup and yet in my old Chinese cookbook, they make their tea weaker. Mind you they use loose tea, but I was wondering whether using less is just for drinking at meals, but using a bag a cup increasing the benefits, even though I drink four cups a day. So do the benefits increase the stronger you steep the tea or does it mean that if you use 1 bag per cup the benefits increase as to weight loss and health benefits?

Hello dear friend. I am not quite sure that tea can help lose weight though I think that I have responded to one of your discussions about the function of tea that can help lose weight and we do have some kind weight-loss tea on the racks of the supermarket. Here in China, we usually have different kinds of tea and we make tea in different ways, two of which are as follows, bag tea and loose tea that you have mentioned here. I enjoy both and drink both kinds of tea. Most of the time I buy loose tea as it is cheaper to get, but I use a cup with a filter in it so that I would not eat the tea leave while drinking. I think that tea is very helpful in relieving the urine, which is good to us to help eliminate the bad stuff in the body more easily. Thanks so much for your tea discussion. Happy drinking tea, dear friend.

Hello my dear friend. Thanks so much for the best response. I drink tea every day when I work, and when I stay at home. I drink tea for the purpose of getting rid of the bad stuff in the body. Tea helps to clean our body. In China, we have many teahouses in town and cities. I have been there for only a few times as I enjoy more of the tea made by myself. hehe. Happy tea-drinking, my dear friend.

I think the benefits would be greater by using more. I think it would help more in weight loass and your health benefits because it would add more to your intake.

That does seem feasible, the more the better.

Yes. That is what I was thinking also. I guess I would just try it and see if it is better and go from there. Good luck.

I really don't know forsure so am hoping someone else is an expert at green tea. I'm actually drinking some right now but am drinking Lipton Green Tea that comes bottled - I am trying to get away from drinking so much Diet Pepsi which is my favorite beverage but not at all good for me. I would however think that if the tea were stronger that it would have a higher effect.

that sounds like the reasonable conclusion - the stronger is the more concentrated nutrients is the more increased benefits. I wonder how much caffeine is in it and if there is such a thing as too much

It makes sense that the longer it seeps the healthier it will be. I think natural vitamins are great and easier to get then most people.

I figured that out, but at first I was not sure how long it should be. Why I would not have been surprised if someone said ten minutes because that is what they usually recommended in those medical herb teas I have to take in the fall and winter because of my bronchitis. The only thing is the tea sort of interferes with my singing. So I can only drink it when I am not going to sing. It sort of dries out my vocal cords.

I am not sure about whether it has been proven green tea makes the body lose weight. I do drink it everyday because It makes me feel better and I do think that it does something inside the body to cleanse it. I have been on green tea now for several months along with taking the hoodia pills, I have lost some weight. Not a lot but it is slowly coming off. I use two bags per cup and i drink probably 3-5 cups per day as well as lots of water.

I have a five cup tea pot, so I put three bags in it and let it steep for five minutes. Since there is two of us, one of us gets three cups, the other two and a half cup if I fill it to the top. I used to take the Hoodia Pills just to try them out - they were on sale. I am allergic or intolerant of a product in the other diet pills, so I guess for me it would be just the green tea and the Hoodia. I should get some later on, because I find I get too sleepy in the afternoon.

It is believed that tea could get rid of the excessive fats from our body if we take certain amount of it regularly. I usually take two or three cups of hot green tea dairy in the late evening. I normally take Chinese green tea, Boh and Lipton green tea. Normally we never take green with any sugar or other fatty additives like milk, or creamer which could eventually turn into fats. More over tea is supposed to contain tannic acid which can dissolve fatty substances in our body.

I found that out. I take the tea in the morning or the afternoon and I noticed, but I will not tell you how I noticed that I am losing fat. I take it plain and hot. We can get the Chinese at Superstore but I would rather get the loose tea rather than fiddle with those little papers attached to the bags that often come out. I like Tetleys the best.
