Fear of no more doctors?

Does anyone else share my fear that one day there will not be enough doctors to help? I know that there is already a "shortage" of healthcare workers as we speak. So why is that? What makes it so hard to find good doctors?

I wonder how much these superastronomical awards for people who successfully sue drs. I mean insurance to protect against this is sky high now. Not saying that some physicians shouldn't be sued but some of these financial awards can be a bit much. Personally I used to go to a gynecologist who couldn't afford his insurance so he became a receptionist at his wife's doctor's office. As far as I know he was never involved in any lawsuit.

Yea, it's almost scary how many doctors are being put out of business! Talk about definately kill some man pride to have to go work for his wife. You would think they could have joined their practices and worked together! Thanks for your comment!

I think......and this is only my opinion now......I think that its because it takes along time to go to school. and in todays society people have become lazy. I know that alot of places are bringing in doctors from outside the country. My childrens pediatrician is from peru. And he is a wonderful doctor. one of the best I have ever seen. He cares alot about the kids. It really is hard to find a really good doctor. We need more doctors that care for the patient and not just for the money.

I agree with your opinion. You would think that schools would make it easier financially for the ones with the brains and determination. Cause I feel the Dr.s become about the money to get out of the hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt they have become into, and they simply keep that mind frame through it all. Thanks for your opinion on the situation.
