I have read books that says you can give this or that to your 6-9 month baby. But when should I really start giving her meat and other hard to digest food? Thanks!!!

Please do not give that baby chicken liver. You said yourself that it is hard to digest. An eight month old baby should still be going through the baby food stage. Check out http://www.beechnut.com. There are plenty of websites that will tell you what a child should be eating at each age and stage in his life. Chicken livers sounds like something that would choke him if nothing worse.

there is nothing wrong with giving the baby chicken liver. You don't have to feed babies everything out of a jar.... Cooking the livers and then pureeing them, perhaps with some soft vegetables, makes an excellent meal. Chicken livers are an excellent source of iron, which is critical for babies to get from their diet from 6 months on.

Take a look at the Annabel Karmel website as it has loads of recipes for making your own baby food and tells you what babies can/can't eat. I use this site and have found it really useful.

I really wouldn't recommend it at that early of an age. Some babies cannot even handle the meats they make in baby food. You have to try those out on the baby first and see how he/she reacts to it. if it upsets their stomachs you need to stop and wait another month or two before introducing it again to them. God bless

I see. I guess it all depends on the baby's tummy. Some have sensitive stomach. How about the chicken meat itself? Are babies ready for that? I have given her some, and she took it. No complications so far.

if there weren't any complications with the chicken, then i would say it would be okay. if it's not the baby food chicken though i would definitely make sure it was cooked throughly all the way through before giving it to her so that she doesn't get saliminela or something like that. good luck and keep us posted. God bless

Ok, thanks so much for those infos. I want her to eat right kinds of foods and not get addicted to junk foods. I want her to get used to eating fruits, veggies, and drink fruit juices, milk...etc. ^^v

Surely you can start to feed your baby with chicken liver and add it as assistant food now. But it must be refined. You can also find the finished product in the supermarket. The way to feed the baby other food like meat etc is always like that.

Refined? I haven't seen those kind of products in our local supermarket yet.. Or it could be that I don't look well enough. Thanks for that, bigcat! ^^v

Refined-I mean that the liver was processed to thick soup and be packed in a bottle and be sold in the supermarket.

liver is full of proteins so that would be very good for the baby, make sure you purify it though to make it easier to digest for the baby, perhaps you could put a small amount of liver in with the usual vegetables that you normally do for your baby xxx

I WOULD NOT give my baby chicken liver. Not at eight months old. I think that is just a little bit weird for those books to say that. They make baby food meats, I'd stick with those if I were you.

Hm... my hubby's grandmother doesn't want to give the baby prepared foods. She wants me to cook the food for the baby so I buy fruits, veggies, and chicken, pork meats and prepare them myself. But I don't eat liver so I don't know what the chicken liver might do for her.
