Finding a new home

I am looking to try and find a new place to move with my family. My husband and I have talked about Texas or Nevada. We both want somewhere warm. But we also want somewhere the children will be safe. I would love to hear about different areas. Like weather and schools and stuff like that. I have done some research on the internet but it's nicer to hear peoples opinions.

There are pros and cons to every place. Like take my town for example, less than five thousand residents. A small tourist town, with friendly people. Everyone here knows everyone. We've got nice school, family owned restaraunts, local businesses, arts and crafts bazaars, community gatherings and all sorts of wholesome fun. But, a year ago, one of my friends was murdered and the whole town was turned upside down. Just goes to show you, even the nicest towns can have a dark side, no matter how good and safe they look. Every place has dangers whether or not you see them. Although living in the downtown projects of a large city is probably a more dangerous bet than out in the suburbs...You get my point.

I am assuming that you are looking to move somewhere within the states. If you are keen to venture further afield, how about the sunny island of Singapore?! It has great climate, clean streets and people who speak english. and low personal income tax rates (warning: don't expect a state pension though). The weather is around 24-30 degrees celcius all year round. And it is an island with beautiful beaches. what's not to love?

If you want nice weather, don't move to Chicago! Bitter cold here today!
