What are your thoughts on girls wrestling.... Highschool wrestling not paid to wrestle sports...Should girls be allowed to be on the boys wrestling team? should they be allowed to wrestle only girls or also the guys?

I know that there will be a lot of people who disagree with my response, but oh well. I am one of those old fashioned people who think that girls should not try to do guys sports. I feel like the guys or men should be just that and the women should do girl things.

Maybe I'm a little biased because a good female friend is wrestling on a semi-professional level currently, but what if the girls don't want to do girl things? There will always be tom boys, and athletic girls, and girls who just want to do everything. What if it was your daughter? What would you do if all she wanted to do was play baseball and drive monster trucks around the house? I was by no means a tom boy, and most people would describe me as girly or feminine. But I had a lot more Ninja Turtles than I had barbies. I thought playing basketball was just as cool as using my Easy Bake oven. And I am very thankful for those opportunities; I think the exposure to all kinds of different activities and the ability to do whatever I wanted to within reason is a big part of why I am who I am today.

You are right. If it were my daughter, I would encourage her to do anything that she wanted to do. Also at the same time, I think that women should still be free to be women and do girly things without being thought of as being held back. I feel like some people look at me and feel sorry for me because I fill the traditional wife role. I do the cleaning and cooking and other such stuff, while my husband brings in the money and does the fixing things around the house.

My daughter LOVES it... she has earned more respect from guys since she started. in 7th and 8th grade she didnt ever touch a girl... there were non that would wrestle with her from her school or any of our local schools... Since she started highschool she has had to wrestle girls... and she says they are no competition. lol It is too bad that her coachs do not respect her like MOST of her team members... she has a few that she knows don't want her there... that just makes her fight harder~!
