I think I'm losing my mind...

Last year, I moved to Florida, and happened upon the best job I've ever had. I absolutely love my job; I love the work, my bosses are great, and it's more money than I've ever made. I get off early all the time, or get time off all together, all paid. The hours are great, my bosses are flexible about everything...you get the picture. My dream job (as long as I'm working for someone else, that is) Anyway, when I was hired, a year ago, it was just at the start of tax season (I work for an accounting firm). I had previously worked for a tax preparation service, and I really impressed them with my knowledge, and how quickly I was catching on. After about 3 weeks, they gave me a raise, and told me that one way he knew it was a good fit is because his wife (also an employee) hadn't complained about me, and apparently, that was unusual. I got another raise after about another month or so, and I was happy as pie. I got a total of 3 raises in my first 6 months, but since then, I don't know what my problem is. Lately (the last couple of months or so), I can't seem to do anything right. They are trying to teach me some of the other aspects of the business, and it just seems like I can't retain a single freakin' thing. I feel like a total moron. I'm getting really wierd vibes, and I'm scared to death they're going to fire me. It just feels really tense in the office lately. I don't know if it's just me, or if there is genuine tension. There are days when it seems like everything I touch gets screwed up. I hate this. I don't know what my problem is, and I don't know how to fix it. I am feeling very insecure about my job. I have a guilty conscience all the time; like, every time I hear one of them sigh, I think, "Oh, crap, what did I screw up this time?" I am so much in despair...Please...PLEASE help me! Any advice Please??!!

I know how you feel. I feel like that all the time but it's at my own house. I don't know what could be up with you. Are you having family issues or personal problems that are distracting you? Maybe you should just go to your boss and talk to them about it. Just tell them that you feel like you aren't living up to their standards and you don't want to risk losing your job so you need help to fix whatever the problem is. They sound like they are nice understanding people. Good luck. Let us know what happens!

i would go and speak to your boss and see if there is any problems with your work. i think you will find that everything is going wrong as you are worried about what they are thinking all the time.so if you sort out if there was a problem and how to fix it ,your work will improve.cheers sue

Your employers sound like Great people. These are people you can talk to. They will understand your problem if you share it with them. I think they are pushing you along too fast. Everyone has an assimilation pace. You have reached yours and need a bit of room to relax in. THis is no reflection on your intellect. Everyone has their limits. Given a bit of time you will be able to grasp the new ideas. Stop worrying! Relax and share your problem with your bosses. Best of Luck to You!
